i played the original way back in '95 or so, but didn't like it whatsoever. I didn't "get" it. It was only after the absolutely amazing System Shock 2 that I began reconsidering giving it another go. I settled for the remastered version years later, because the original '94 version is as clunky as a diesel-powered sex doll. EDIT: Anyone here who wants to use "Diesel-Powered Sex Doll" as a band name is welcome to do so, as long as you credit me as "Papa Rimjob" in the linear notes.

Never a good thing when someone has something called "The 911 Interview" on their website. That said, Jesus practicing Hinduism and speaking on other religions is far more historically accurate than any film depiction we've had.

I'm really hurt that the game ran so bad for you, it was one of the few games that my crap laptop could actually run very well and I used it for playing games, that game ran better than Roblox.

I didn't even know MM6 was a thing until I seen it in stores one day, and bought it on the spot, being an avid fan of 2 through 5 (never played the first one until much later in life). My 10 year old self was so happy, it was quite rare that I had enough money on me to buy a game back in those days but I knew I had to have this one. Only other one I owned as a kid was MM3 which I got one year for Christmas (rented MM2 a lot, and later rented 4 and 5 a few times each.) As it was one of the only two MM games I owned as a kid, it holds a special place in my heart and I cannot decide which one I like better between MM2, MM3 and MM6.

Oh man. Core memory about this game. You know how Yamato Man's stage is the "Impregnable Fortress?" When me and my brother first played this game, we were single-digit ages. So we go to Yamato Man's stage, and we didn't know what "impregnable" meant, and she explained that it meant something that can't be broken into. And me and my brother laughed so hard we game overed because my brother goes "It's not impregnable! It doesn't even have a front door!" Three decades later and I still laugh about that whenever I play this game 😂

About the adaptor animations taking too long, there's a version of this game that allows you to use them much faster, and that is Rockman 6 Complete Works on PS1. As it was released on a console with bumpers on its controller, you can use hot swapping like in Mega Man 7. By switching into one of the forms, which is set on one of the back bumpers, you''ll change into them emidetely rather than having to sit through an animation on pause screen. I'm suprised you didn't mention the fact that Plant Barrier has a piercing effect like Yamato Spear. It makes the weapon a little bit more handy once you know about this. Speaking of weapons, while I do agree that 5 has one of, if not the weakest arsenal from the classic series, I don't think Charge Kick and Power Stone are bad. They're pretty good actually. They just need some more mastery. If you'd like to learn about how to use them more practically, I recommend Fox in Yellow Socks' video about Power Stone, as well Charge Kick doesn't suck series by The Old School Video Game King, as both productions show their fullest potential. Water Wave and Gravity Hold would definetely be my picks for the worst ones tho; worst screen nuke and floor weapon in the series. But all in all, I enjoyed your video. I'm glad you gave some spotlight to one of my favorite Mega Man games that's definetely deserves more attention than it gets. I'm looking forward to more Mega Man content from you. Enjoy your sub.

Fun fact: “Yamato” is roughly analogous to the word “Japan” itself, so Yamato Man’s name literally translates as “Japan Man”.

I kinda feel that way about a lot of the weapon and enemy attack sounds. It's all just the same few sound effects used for everything and it makes the soundscape kinda bland. Weird considering how nice the rest of the game's aesthetics are.

Despite being a lifelong Mega Man fan, 6 is the first of the Famicom games that I would say I wholeheartedly enjoy to go back to. While I replayed 1 and 2 a lot (Nintendo was slow with putting NES games on the 3DS eShop), they are really rough once you've stopped replaying them end on end. There's something so satisfying with a tight and brisk game. You've also helped me discover a mind goblin I never saw before: I never use Special Weapons outside of Robot Master fights. The game tells you that it's very important to save all your energy for the boss weakness, so I've internalized that as NEVER USE SPECIAL WEAPONS UNTIL A BOSS. Doesn't help that I was one shot short on my first time though Wily Castle 4 in 2...I always dread the Wily Castles because I always thought they were really annoying for no reason, only NOW realizing it's because you're supposed to not be a hoarder and shoot your damn guns.

Longtime Megaman fan here, since the first on NES way back in the day. 6 is easily the most polished of the NES titles, in a series whose whole identity is based on it. As a kid, I actually owned 2, 3, and 4, and settled for renting 1, 5, and 6, which I did very often. The only two gripes about 6 that I had as a kid are the same ones I have about it now: - Megaman's charged Mega Buster sound when he fires is as limp-dicked as it gets, and coming off of 5's intense sound effect for the same action is really jarring. - The Select button really should have been used to cycle through the two Rush adapters. Beyond that, I really dug the G Gundam-esque feel of the game, with multiple robots being based on various cultures' identities coming together for a massive tournament. The soundtrack is great, with standouts like . . . Jesus, all of them. I can't recall Wind Man or Centaur Man offhand, but Flame Man, Tomahawk Man, Knight Man, Blizzard Man, Plant Man, and Yamato Man's theme's all being excellent. There's an efficient spirit of creativity that went into the creation of classic Megaman. The charming enemy design, creative weapons and stage layouts, excellent production values, and commitment to overall quality sound design are all hallmarks of the whole thing, all the way up to Megaman 11. Even the weakest entry (7, in my opinion) mixed things up in interesting ways, lifting Dr. Lights' shop from the Gameboy titles and transplanting it into the mainline series, or introducing interactive environments with loads of secrets. It's a great series. In the overall video game landscape, I'd consider it a cultural heirloom on par with the NES Mario titles.

Unless you're just super enthusiastic, I'd recommend anyone avoid marathoning a bunch of the series in a row. They're short enough that it's very doable, but the repetition makes you a bit numb and it's harder to appreciate the differences. I'm glad I could shine a new light on it for you :)
