We did that forestry section on our 2nd lap, all that off camber stuff was tricky, and I was sure I was going to have problems along there, but really surprised at how well my bike hooked up. Have gone up a tooth on rear sprocket and added a flywheel weight and I'm really pleased with the 250FX. Completely missed the turn at 15:13, looked like a lot of bikes had gone straight up to the top, then turned left. Got quite lost lol. Also glad to see someone else struggle in that section from 19:17. And at 54 I agree with you re hips...
@RichardStreeterYZ450FXАй бұрын
Hey there Peter yes there wasn't a lot of room for mistakes through those off camber sections, was thinking this'll get cut up bad after a few bikes have been through. That's awesome that some changes in gearing and a flywheel weight make a difference that helps with your riding. Haha yeah sometimes it's hard to notice the arrow directions when your focusing on a tricky part of the track, when someone makes a wrong turn and lays down a track doesn't take long before other riders follow, done it myself. Yeah that was a tricky we section @ 19:17 bet a few of those young fit fellas rode up there easily. Hi Richard So if you were buying a new bike it would be 450fx again over a 250x? Or because you have the 450fx would you like to add a 250x to your stable?
@RichardStreeterYZ450FXАй бұрын
Hey there Otto I'd buy a 450fx over the 250x, while the 250x is light and nimble the 450 is more planted and the weight helps to plow through shit ruts, ledges smaller rocks, the 250 is very quick on the power you also have to be a bit more precise with gear selection and this one ran out of steam in the wide open terrain, although Hayden did say it was lower geared to suit the his riding. To me they're both hard work but in different ways. It's nice to ride something different, I think the 300s are a bit more mellow in their power delivery. Cheers Richard
@nicolasayer1908Ай бұрын
@ Appreciate your thoughts, I too prefer a planted feel with fast trail rides, the 125x is great from time to time but the 450fx just ticks more boxes. Still would like a 250x aswell especially over a 250fx as a mid size weapon.

Hey there, I've gone in that way twice now and that rock face at 23:55 is very difficult even on a dirt bike, we needed extra riders to help drag and push all the bikes up, it's hard to get a good run up to it and it's slippery. I bet your avoiding laughing, coughing and sneezing. Yes it was a slippery day, I'd say there would've been quite a few riders hitting the ground. The first ride I did here I hit a rock on the side of the track landed on the bars with my ribs, they hurt for a good couple of months. Also if your helmet has hit the ground hard it really needs to be replaced as the polystyrene foam inner shell will have compressed and wont be as good at absorbing an impact the next time it hits anything in that area. Good luck and take it easy give your body time to heal.

My god that looked ugly! Glad l followed your recommendation and stayed out of enduro 1. Enduro 2 was good though.

Hey there Chris yeah it sure was challenging, hard to tell in the vid but when I'm looking at the hill side there's lots of bikes on their sides, people sliding and rolling down. Bit gutted my starter failed so opted not to go into second enduro incase it was as tough as the first. Cheers Richard

@@RichardStreeterYZ450FX I mean, in the video where you left the carpark and started your run, I imagine you passed me out there as I'm slow but was trying to see if I could spot me and my mate.

@@dkrcrewmember Haha didn't read your message properly, this was my second lap, so it was around 11:00 when I headed off. Cheers Richard
