Hello from Wales. I'm 66 and have been riding for 50 years. I recall falling off a bicycle when I was about 10 {actually, I was knocked off it by a spaniel dog, the owner of which then gave it a sound thrashing} and even though I was only doing about 10 MPH, took the skin off the palm of a hand, so you simply must NEVER ride without good quality leather gloves when on a motorcycle. No such thing as Gloves that protect your hand! They stop a little bit but if you hit the road at high speed they explode. Why do you think Racers where extra skid pads under their gloves!

@@jarnosaarinen4583 Foolish talk. You're in a very small minority who believes such nonsense. I have a pal who came off at between 40 and 50 MPH, taking a load of skin off his arse, as he was wearing jeans, not leathers but his hands were fine.

@@michaelarchangel1163 He was lucky. I have seen several get-offs where gloves were heavily scuffed on the top where the knuckles are. In one instance, the knuckle areas of the gloves were abraded right down to the knuckles.

"Do not get encouraged, be wise," should be two sentences, not one and when you write that people should ride "responsibly," the analog to that would be to ride safely, not ride "safe." A person could be safe, but for other verbs, the modifier is an adverb such as safely. How should a person ride? Safely. Ride safeLY. Walk slowLY. Rise quickLY.
