This hits. I was caught being molested age 5 by my father, but it may have been going on years beforehand, possibly while as an infant. He threatened to bash my head in when caught. I had a learning difficulty as a child, was bullied mercilessly - but I suspect the worst aspect for males is the suspicion they will grow into pedophiles themselves. I remember in my teens and 20s being very uncomfortable around children out of fear of a perversion developing. It took me years to become somewhat comfortable in my own skin and finally realize I wasn't my father; by which time the better part of life was over. Now middle aged, but with less life experience than someone half my age, barely any friends, poor social skills/inability to relate to others, never dated, obviously no family.

I haven’t been tested, and I am a woman, but I have had a lot of the same symptoms as this man for decades. I finally put 2 and 2 together in late 2023 after doctors have failed me. I quit gluten and I am a new woman. When the interviewer mentioned trusting your gut and not giving up on yourself, that is soooo key. And that is so difficult to work through when you’re in so much pain and experiencing brain fog, fatigue, and malaise.

The Aussie have been KILLING IT lately this was such a good interview. I’m excited to see more of your channel. I am someone very interested in men’s mental health but we don’t have enough of it that isn’t literally bashing women to do so! This video has given me hope.

29y Female Aussie here I just stumbled on this when I looking up A.C.T content to find some help to with my OCD. It’s really difficult to challenge OCD when what’s feels to be your self inflicted circumstances don’t reflect the person you want to. It’s so accurate that OCD uses your values, how you see yourself, against you. The shame is undoing. Incredible to hear someone get to a place where it isn’t in control of their life. My OCD is also very flexible but sticks to targeting my values and character. It’s feels like the avoidance has been eroding who I am for years. And yet, that person is still there and will one day win. I wonder if it’s a common experience for similar OCD sufferers to have some sort of child/adolescent experience that makes them question their morality/culpability, their goodness. I had a childhood and late adolescent experience that did this and it sounds like your friends passing did this too

Hi, thanks for watching! That's a really interesting perspective. Hopefully there's some solace in solidarity and knowing it's possible for things to improve. Maybe some of what's helped Matt get to the place he's at now could help you too.

The guy saying pretty unlikely multiple times is so frustrating. It's not that unlikely what's unlikely is doctors testing for it and landlords and apartments admitting that there is black mold in the first place!

Thank you for this video! I had to stop my hiking, working out that I have done for decades. Started exercising again after 13 years with TRX & Yoga but had to stop all forms of exercising because I then was diagnosed with Acute Heart Failure. Now that I'm doing a little better I've been struggling to find other forms of exercise that I am allowed to do. I'm still not able to hike like I did before, hurts my head and makes my heart too too fast! My injury yoga instructor (also my PT for my other injuries) hasn't been able to find a place to hold classes, etc. and because of my injuries I can't just go to anyone, difficult between heart & brain pain too. I will look into other anaerobics (which was never told about). Wondering what other rehab he has had! I was treated as if a hypochondriac and sent on my way. Working full time, raising a very active son, was a Cub Scout & pack leader, on many not for profit committee boards, etc. They only told me to sleep, which I couldn't with the spinning vertigo and 24'hr migraines, post concussion syndrome for over 3 1/2 years, exhausted and barely functioning pushing myself to the limits because they told me I had too! Continually getting worse and worse. I still have many of the symptoms like he said with words like he said tweezers. My sentence and words get jumbled. Then a few days later I'm fine for part of a day and then back. I still have LT & ST memory problems, still can't sleep, had study and no apnea but no answers again! Seems the USA needs to get their crap together with TBI in fully functioning TBI people that pass their inadequate TBI testing! 😡 they are many of us in limbo that didn't get what we needed and being told it's too late!

My daughter has been watching my struggles with BP2 that have gotten so much worse in the last decade for a number of compounding reasons. I’ve been on suicide watch in hospital three times and I know the thought of me self harming terrifies her and just thinking about this is ripping me up inside. I don’t know how to protect her from my mental health struggles - I wish she had a normal dad… but the depths of depressive spells and knowing they won’t stop coming is unsolvable.

I had no idea it’s so socially acceptable in Australia. It is not a ok drug. I used just like this gentleman I can relate to him so much. I was a weekend warrior holding 2 jobs and no one knows. The drug reined my life socially financially and physically!!! It is not a joke even weekend use is very bad do to the decision making it makes you do.
