Ya man! Get it! Search KZbin for Pecos river brass band (demo?) I think.. we played this as the last tune of our big band power show. Brutal! At the end of the video our 4th chair guy blows the paint off the walls with a double high C#. Ridiculous. That chart was as challenging for all involved as about any chart I’ve ever played, but once we got it down it was one of the most fun!

double time feel. the 16th note run makes it feel like we are now double the bpm even thought the backing track stays the same

@alexmunozmusic
@alexmunozmusic 10 ай бұрын
I’ll be honest, the question goes around and there’s no answer that works for everyone. My best advice is remember to work with air rather than working physically for the notes and you won’t hurt yourself. You just need to play up there everyday and your lips will get used to the notes, improving your range. Soft playing, flexibility, pedals, everyone is affected differently. Really just doing it is the answer, you’ll get better everyday. I can send you some PDF’s that have worked for me, my email is on my instagram @alexmunozmusic. Best of luck!

As for lead playing, you should listen in my opinion. To recordings, to other lead player models. You need to know how to hold the band and lead them through the chart which is part of sounding confident even if you mess up, and knowing the music. I have a lot of bad tendnencies that I still have to work on, but I listen and noticed them. You’ll be great! Best of luck!
