Good cheap beer.

This is my go-to Aldi beer at the moment. One of these 6% Triple and a 7.3% Mckewans Champion and that'll do me for the evening. That St Pierre can was possibly the worst Belgian beer I've ever had.

What beer could be next?

Dark brown, opaque. In the nose wet cardboard, then coffee, chocolate maltiness and light sweetness. Full body, low carbonation, roastiness, coffee and dark chocolate with a sour note. Decent porter.

That’s some interesting information I like Love Lane beers. I can see straight away if you like a beer or not. Plumb in a porter is definitely a winner for me. Decent beer at a great price,nice one cheers 👍🍻

Both are great and often overlooked. They taste different and i lean towards the czech brewed staropramen but id drink either without any hesitation

Had this the other night and wow, really really liked it. Had a Paulaner straight after which in comparison was pretty average

They do a can 4-pack as well. Got it in my fridge just now!

Good review and nice set up. I really like this beer, prefer it to Budvar. Try the 500ml Staropramen from lidl, its brewed in Czech Republic

Having the Aldi one right now. Its ok. 5 /10.

A vigorous swirl to get all that sludgy yeasty goodness out from the bottom of the bottle into the glass makes a hell of a difference for weissbiers Jake. I find that improves the taste even further. Not tried a Patronus before. I might give one a try even tho you say its a bit thin and mouthfeel is king for me in weisbeirs. You cant go wrong with a Fraziskaner. Even at £2 it's good value. As Weisbeirs go tho, Paulaner and Weihenstephaner probably edge it for me. Cheers Jake. Keep it up butty! 👍

I've heard other beer reviewers say that both are brewed in Hungary.

God bless Aldi! UK beers have gone off the cliff over the last ten years.

Steinhauser is a cut above Brooklyn Pilsner for me, but £1.99 for a 660ml bottle is not bad at all.

Both are really good Euro Lagers.

Can't go wrong with pretty much any German weiss. Prefer them slightly over the Belgian Wits. Weihenstephaner, Paulaner, Franziskaner porbably the nicest I've tried.

Both great beers, but is much closer between the two for me.

I'm getting into wheat beers as well, i found that Lidl's wheat beer very watery, not a patch on the Perlanbacher weiss 6 pack that was out a few months ago.

I do love an Aldi copy so i'll be giving them a go, can't be as bad as the UK brewed San Miguel and Madri.
