realistically how likely is a cs applicant with an exact 1420, 4.4, 8 AP courses/15, 3 researches (cornell, few others), few unpaid internship, national level at a niche sport, and okayish-mid essays likely to get in?

Great video to see! But is it true that Purdue is intentionally repressing Chinese international student numbers? I heard in Chinese social media that the admission has become a lot more difficult than before, or is it a general trend for all students?

Afternoon. I'm a Purdue Alumni who didn't take either the SAT or ACT. Didn't have the classes you describe for admission to Purdue. But, I entered in the fall of 1979 after serving 4 years in the US Army. I found out that I didn't have the High School classes that I should have taken while in High School. I realized this while sitting in the Chemistry for engineering (no labs) and when the Prof said you take a "Mole" of Oxygen ... and I started thinking "Mole? Isn't that a brown furry creature that burrows under the ground?" I had to go back the next semester to get the background classes that I missed. I was looking to be admitted into the EE School of Engineering but was told it was too late (I later found out after I graduated that this was bad information). I did receive a generic BSE and then started my career. I moved into Software by OJT and retired earlier this year. I think it's great that Purdue has such higher admission standards than that school to the south with the Devil's Symbol. LOL

The Union has so much more cool stuff there now (like that coffee shop you went to) than when I was at Purdue in the 90’s. Universe Bookstore looks literally unchanged! 😊

Hello Lizzy. I was just back at Purdue the week of the Notre Dame Game for the 150th Engineering Alumni Banquet with the Boss (i.e. wife). I saw a few of those coffee shops but didn't get a chance to go visit them. The campus has changed a lot since I was there. I graduated in December 1983 that was after serving in the US Army for four years before Purdue. IIRC, there was a coffee shop in the old Purdue West (where Follett's use to be, had fun trying to find where they moved too), I was visiting from Seattle at the time and comparing the coffee it served vs. what I was use to in Seattle was close, but no cigar. Anyway, good luck with your studies and have a good and healthy life. Boiler Up & Hammer Down. (We just said "Go Purdue!", yeah I'm old.)

Great reviews of the different coffee shops, Lizzy. So nice that you can study in them too, or just relax with friends. I have never been to any of these shops on Campus, but I too really enjoy the Indie Coffee Roasters coffee (and snacks 😂)
