Perhaps if you brought out that we are not competing against each other for one prize but competing as one body against our enemy. People who are not competitive have probably endured some awful bullying at the hands of the super competitive super popular crowd. But this is a race we join together as one under Christ to win.

In the spirit realm Satan often works in the same way, slowly slithering his way into our lives, attempting to choke the very life out of us. The python spirit can squeeze the joy out of your worship and prayers. It can pressure you to keep quiet when God wants you to speak up.

Imagine a father giving a drink to his child. He believes with all his heart that the drink is just water. However, in the glass is a deadly poison. Does his "belief" change reality?! Many claim Jesus was just a teacher, but the Bible says that He is GOD. That's a big difference! Why should we trust the Bible? It was written down by eye witnesses during the lifetime of other eye witnesses, and reports supernatural events that took place in fulfillment of specific prophecies written hundreds of years before. These eyewitnesses had nothing to gain and everything to lose if their message were not true. Many of them lost their lives because of their message: Jesus came to die as a sacrifice for sins, so sinners could be reconciled to a Holy God. Man is guilty of breaking God's Ten Commandments. If you've ever lied, stolen, or looked with lust, God sees you as a lying, thieving, adulterer-at-heart. No one can meet God's standard, and hell is JUST because God is HOLY. But in His mercy, God took on flesh in the person of Jesus Christ. He lived a sinless life, and offered Himself in love on the cross to take God's wrath in the place of sinners. He rose from the dead, showing the penalty paid in full. God commands you to repent and trust in Jesus ALONE for salvation. Cry out to God for mercy, and put your faith in Jesus, confessing and forsaking your sins. God will change your heart so you will desire holiness. The Bible shows ample evidence of Divine authorship. If it?s true, then Jesus is your only hope, even if you "believe" otherwise!

What is the purpose of our existence? Is it simply to have a good job, build a family, and enjoy life? Is that all there is? Certainly not. We’re made for so much more. Your purpose is to know God. After we die, the Bible says we’ll face God as our Judge. Have you ever rebelled (sinned) against God? Examine yourself by God’s Law, the Ten Commandments. Have you ever told a lie? Ever stolen (the value is irrelevant)? Jesus said, “Whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.” In God’s courtroom, our sins are very serious crimes. They’re so evil that the just punishment is death and eternity in a terrible place called Hell. The Bible says that God takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked. He is rich in mercy and provided a Savior: “God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” Jesus Christ died on the cross, paying the death penalty for sinners. He then rose from the dead three days later, defeating death. Hundreds saw Him after His resurrection; it’s no fairy tale. Jesus fulfilled all the prophecies about the promised Savior, written in the Holy Scriptures hundreds of years before His birth. Religious rites, sacred traditions, or attending church can’t save you. Salvation is a free gift of God that you can’t earn. To know God and have your sins forgiven, do what the Bible says: repent and believe. Trust in Jesus as you’d trust in a parachute-don’t just “believe” it can save you, put it on and cling to it with all of your being. Wholeheartedly commit yourself to following Christ, and turn your back on sin. Then show your gratitude by obeying His command to be baptized. Be sure to also join a Christian church and read the Bible daily. God will never let you down.

If the Bible says that we are all sinners (Romans 3:23; 1 John 1:10); that our sins have separated us from God (Isaiah 59:1-2); and that only Jesus Christ can reconcile sinful men to a holy God (Romans 5:10; 2 Corinthians 5:18), then you see why it is that we urge you to repent of your sins, believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved (Acts 16:30-31). Salvation cannot come through a church, for no church ever died for your sins. Salvation cannot come through your good deeds, for the Bible says that in God’s sight there is none that doeth good (Ecclesiastes 7:20; Isaiah 64:6). Salvation must come through Jesus Christ, for He did what no church, no religion, no pope or priest or preacher can do – He died, was buried, and rose again the third day (1 Corinthians 15:1-4). Only He can take away your sins (1 John 3:5; 1 John 1:7). You can believe on Him and be saved today (Romans 10:9-10). Otherwise, how shall ye escape, if ye neglect so great salvation (Hebrews 2:3)?

For the wages of sin is death." This means, someone must pay when they disobey, dishonor, and offend God. This is bad news for us, because we have all disobeyed, dishonored, and offended God by breaking His commandments, if not in overt action, in thought. But the verse continues. "But the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." In every area we have disobeyed, dishonored, and offended God, Jesus obeyed, honored, and pleased His Father in our place. He suffered torture and separation from God, taking upon Himself the punishment for all our sins, and paid in full the wages owed. Then He died, and rose again the third day, according to the Scriptures. Today, ask yourself, who will pay for your sin? You, being separated from God forever, in the torments of hell? ...Or have the wages been paid in full, by Jesus

The MILLION DOLLAR question: Are you good enough to go to Heaven? Answer honestly: Have you ever lied, stolen (regardless of value), or looked with lust? Jesus said "whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart." Guilt results in an eternal Hell because God is Holy. Imagine a man in a courtroom; a criminal guilty of serious crimes. He is tried, convicted, and sentenced to life or a fine of a MILLION DOLLARS. when the judge steps down and pays his fine! Even though he's still guilty, his fine has been paid and justice has been satisfied! The judge was both merciful and just. This is what Jesus did for sinners. While fully God and fully man, Jesus lived a sinless life. In love He took the wrath of God and penalty for sin on Himself on the Cross. Then He rose from the grave, showing the penalty paid. What should you do? God commands you to repent and trust in Jesus ALONE. Don't trust in "good works?" Cry out to God for mercy and put your faith in Jesus, confessing and forsaking your sins. God will change your heart so you will desire Holiness. Make peace with God today; you may not have tomorrow. Eternity is worth much more than a MILLION DOLLARS!
