Had both knees and a shoulder replaced in a 6 month period. It’s been 14 months since the first knee was done and it is painful and doesn’t bend well. The other is great as is the shoulder, no problem. I don’t understand why the 1 st knee is like this. When sitting in a chair the knee goes numb with pressure on the back of my leg, feels unstable . I walk 2 miles a day and ride my bike 2 miles a day too. Leg just feels heavy and hurts from the knee to the hip. Feels tight across the top of the knee, and has a little knot on o e side.

I had this surgery during covid. I love to exercise so the atrophy and unable to straighten my leg is still a problem. My range of motion stinks but cycling has helped some and doing my PT. Although I push harder on the peddle with my injured leg the other leg got even bigger and there's more of an imbalance. Does anybody else have experience with this injury?

I just checked in to using the x10 , they don’t have a contract with my insurance ( anthem blue cross ) my cost delivery and set up - technician ( 900$ - rental 100$ per day - minimum three weeks rental ) . I’m 8 weeks out from total knee replacement- stuck at 105 degrees max the last 2 to 3 weeks, therapy 2 times a week, lots of swelling. Getting ready for scar tissue removal and ablation. 3 grand out of pocket is just out of the question right now, too bad I can see the benefits of using it.

Oh gosh, I’m completing 3 months now, and still on crutches…bearing weight but not 100%… starting to think if I’ll be able to walk again without support… but mine fracture was level 6, and the doctor counted something about 18 to 20 screws..

Best explanation on joint movement and fibrosis I’ve heard yet. This is amazing. I had really bad fibrosis prior to to surgery due to injuries to the knee and arthritis. I worked on it with a rolling pin! This would have been so much better!

I fracture my knee cap few years ago. After it healed it's been collecting scar tissue. I got it removed surgically but it came up again. The more I work out the needle more build up I get. I went to couple of doctors and they're not certain if this will ever get fixed. Anyone out there having similar issue that can provide more info would be greatly appreciated thank you!

Great video, but all this contradicts what I've been told from my surgeon with regards to a bucket handle tear of the meniscus post op. 9 sutures to fix my knee, ice, elevation, no bending for 4 weeks minimum. Knee joint has limited blood flow, so clotting is encouraged for as long as possible around the repair to ensure it heals correctly. In Germany for the same operation Dr will actually place the knee in a cast for 6 weeks! I am 4 weeks post op about to start physio therapy, I feel for everyone who goes through this it's extremely debilitating and alot of patience required, 8 myself have become a zombie, can't wait to get moving again!

Massage and stretch the muscles around your knee and thigh. I use lotion or coconut oil to make it easier. My thigh was totally frozen up with fibrosis from prior injury and arthritis and it’s really helped my range of motion and the swelling. Best of luck!

I never scar! My skin heals nice. But it’s been 5 weeks since a total knee replacement. The skins still swollen n making it hard to bend. I ice it n try n get the swelling down n bend it as much as I can but once I sit for an hour the swelling n stiffness comes back! 😳what about steroids by mouth? Might get swelling down?

I'm on 8 weeks of TKR, I can move my leg every which way but, I have swelling and stiffness all the time! Theropists are working hard to get rid of it but, it ain't going no where! I was active even after my fall , that ruined my knee! Since surgery I'm even more miserable!

@TheCoregon4 жыл бұрын
So sorry..total knee is a super hard recovery. Sorry to tell you but 8 weeks is just the beginning..so what you are experiencing is normal and will be for awhile. My surgeon said I wouldn't be thanking him for 8 months because it's a rough recovery. He was right..but it was well over a year before it felt halfway normal. Especially getting up from chair.... toilet or out of car. The hardest part is when someone tells you they were up and back to normal a month later. Ignore these stories..they have usually forgotten how bad it really was..and don't compare yourself to others. Everyone heals differently. It drove me crazy and was so frustrating when people told me they knew someone that recovered much faster than me..or with less pain. They need to show compassion-- not make your healing a competition...or doubt your pain. Keep icing..I did it nightly for 20 minutes for a year. A nurse told me that many people stop ice too soon. The good news is I have ZERO knee pain now. It's worth it....hang in there.God bless
