This is the old argument that ceramics is either an Art or trade-craft. (My answer has always been it is the same relationship between rectangles and squares)

@@JPL_SII Yep, I guess ceramics has that long tradition as been used for tableware, maybe this is why it always carries this wait. What I find interesting about ceramics is that it can be turned into many different things including sculpture.

Uh, I think a lot of those treasures were stolen by Chiang Kai Shek and the Nationalists when they lost the civil war to Mao's CCP and retreated/fled Mainland China to escape to Taiwan.

I was feeling exactly the same a few days ago. We are surrounded by other peoples plans. Even what we call natural is usually someones design. I'm a portrait artist because i love the human figure and people's faces.

I just spent 6 days at the Holt. The art collection is amazing. The prints that line the residential hall ways and the Persian rugs that line the wall make this hotel so intriguing. The library also contained a ton of antique books, this place reminds me of the Morgan Library in NYC.

So glad i found a UK based artist talking about this. I am currently working on a new show called Wye Inspired which is a large collection of painting depictibg the churches along the river Wye. I have an opening venue in my home town if ross in September and have been scouring the villages and towns along the river for galleries to continue the show, i will now be looking at other types of venues, town halls, council buildings, statly homes and hotels/pubs thank you for the idea.
