I've been blendering for years, taught 2 classes and somehow never used the bool tool shortcut of Cntrl + & - for the tool. (even though it says all the hotkeys right in the tool box.) I'll be using it waay more now though.

Radial arrays are a nightmare to pull off in Blender. Even with Addons the nightmare persists.
@dannybcreative14 күн бұрын
I agree Blender doesn't make it as easy as other apps, but with the right add-ons it can be easier, quicker and very effective. I use HardOps for example and it's radial array feature is fast, easy and very effective. Is it the best? No, but ya gotta look at the big picture.
@manuel.camelo14 күн бұрын
@dannybcreative I agree 👍, I also have HardOps but never tried their radial array, I've always used something else. A Python script which happens to be an addon on the marketplace. I would PAY if only we had the 3ds Max arrays, modifiers, and curves.. into Blender. WHYYYYY Blender is so lagging when it comes to such basic features?? Also 3ds max has a more focused "non-destructive" approach to modeling. I'm crying 😭
@dannybcreative14 күн бұрын
I have no experience with Max, so can only imagine. C4D has some radial symmetry functions which are nice.
@zocratez486715 күн бұрын
Wow. This was hands down the most intelligible and easy-to-follow guide on modeling I have seen so far. And I've seen a few. I was looking for something like this since I'm pretty lost in understanding edge flow and manipulating it. As a nice bonus, the radial array thing was also awesome ;). Thank you dear sir - you've earned yourself a subscriber. I'm excited to see more of your stuff.

@bertilorickardspelar16 күн бұрын
Great tutorial. Instead of the rim_wrap you could have pressed O for "Proportional editing", picked "Sphere" for fallof and moved the center vertex slightly. That would have been quicker in this specific case but your way gives more control and can do any shape so it is generally very useful.
@dannybcreative15 күн бұрын
You're absolutely right. As you mentioned, using the shrinkwrap method allows me some flexibility to make adjustments non-destructively until I'm 100% satisfied that I like the shape. Not shown in the video as it was more direct, but when first forming a shape, that non-destructive approach is helpful. As with anything 3D, always multiple ways to get where ya need to go. Thanks for the comment and I hope you stick around. Cheers!

found this video after your initial tutorial and it helped, i was finally able to put one of your brushes into blender and started painting. blender doesnt save the collection however, so I would be forced to do it over and over gain after starting blender new.
@dannybcreativeАй бұрын
Glad the video helped. I have heard about the not saving thing as well. Honestly, I'm unsure as to why this hasn't been fixed. Someone did mention that the Blender Devs are not giving this particular add-on a high priority, so who knows if it's a bug or a feature, or if it will ever be addressed. In the meantime, I may try to look into using the asset browser as a means of storage of all my brushes. If I come up with something that makes sense, I'll make a video and post it right away. Please let me know if you run into any further issues.

Not sure I completely understand the question. I use machine tools in both edit and object mode and it has different tools for both modes. Is there a particular problem you're running into? I'm definitely not the machine tools expert by any means, and Machin3 has all the info laid out on his channel. I highly recommend checking that out for specific troubleshooting.

If you mean one texture set, i.e. one diffuse map, one normal, one bump, etc... then yes, technically though I imagine resolution will suffer a bit. Will the game engine you're using allow for UDIMs?

I hear ya. Honestly, for me, I'm back and forth. I so badly want to ditch PS and I'm just about there. I know PS has some new AI driven tools like it's new masking abilities that are amazing, but does that negate all the problems with the software? I dunno really. interesting workflow. I use the blender compositor more and more and get used to how it handles things and don't need additional software...
@dannybcreative2 жыл бұрын
The Blender compositor is fine for simple things, sure, but when you cross over into more advanced needs, it just can't compete with a solid photo editor like Affinity Photo or Photoshop. For video, it can't keep up with Fusion, Nuke or even AE. In the end it really depends on your particular needs, and if that works for ya, so be it. Cool.
