Thank you for all the tips, I'm glad to see that your wife can drive because most wives don't. The Thing that will really help you is getting an impact Driver. Preferably Milwaukee and a set up impact sockets. For changing tires you can't beat it and anything else that's hard to get off. And also a torque wrench. Safe travels and be careful out there.
@HerronsOnTheFly26 күн бұрын
Mike agrees - fortunately we carry an impact driver and torque wrench with us. I always gave him grief about all the tools he carries but over the years I think he has had to use every one of those tools fixing something. Very nice to have someone onboard that can repair almost anything. Sounds like you are one of those guys too! Safe travels.

Fun fact......its public water and a river so there's going to be wakes even without jet boats. I personally float it a hundred times a year with my drift boat and the attitude that you displayed, shaking your head as a public land owner uses his/her jet boat and actually respected you and slowed down, then sped back up once they got passed you, you should be ashamed. You guys give us drift boat users a bad name. You dont own the river. If you don't like motorized traffic then head to the henry's. If you continue on the southfork, pull your head out of your ass and deal with it. You guys make fly fisherman and drift boaters look bad. Not jet boaters

Fishermen in drift boats give us a bad name. You don't own the river. Just like pedal bikers don't own the road. I take my family in my drift boat all of the time. My worst experiences are with other drift boats and the head in ass passengers. A no wake zone on a river makes as much sense as a gun free school zone. Its a river you dumb ass, wakes happen. If you don't like it go somewhere else.

@HerronsOnTheFly5 ай бұрын
Seriously, I know it really hurt our ears too!! We never should have listened to the guys in the fly shop- they should have not recommended this trip for us knowing we were in a drift boat in that low of flow. New area for us and we did not do our due diligence.. it was not a good trip.

If I translate this correctly, Altamira Orioles eat mostly insects and berries. Insects include grasshoppers, crickets, spiders and others. Berries and small fruit like hackberries and figs are also on their diet.

Do y'all ever wet your hands before handling your fish? The underwater shots of the trout upside down trout in the net says it all.
@HerronsOnTheFly5 ай бұрын
Yes, we always do wet our hands before handling the fish. There are just two of us in the boat and sometimes capturing video is challenging. We are new to the underwater video camera and I really hope next season we can get better footage. I know it looked pretty lame last year. We have fly fished for over 60 years and 70 different rivers, I also worked for Orvis for 8 years, we always catch and release and smash the barbs down.

funny story for you, when I joined the military, i was living in Missouri. for the military that is your home of record so you will get travel pay back to your home. my drivers license was about to expire when I went into boot camp. the state had sent me a renewal but I wasn't living there anymore. it was sent to me but I received it about the day it expired. I was living off base and driving to training each day. I went to the local Texas licensing office after school while in uniform and explained my predicament. i knew I was going to be assigned to Arizona, and the friends we were living with were moving shortly too. they said i could have a Texas license if i could pass the test. the only address I had was my Missouri "home of record " address, so i was issued a Texas license with a Missouri address. i didn't find out until later that Texas kept it valid until 30 after i left the service. you just showed your military id. when I left the service I then got a new license. good on Texas! nice video with lots of needed information.
@HerronsOnTheFly6 ай бұрын
