Nice flight! I recently discoveres that sometimes wind can be your friend when flying. Gives additional hang time and speed😉👍

yeah i had been flying for years before joining, started off with a fixed pitch flybar micro (self leveling) progressed to a micro CP heli crashed that ALOT then got the 250 crashed that a fair amount of times, 450 crashed that several times aswell and then finally the 650 which ive crashed once.

Still using KBaR? In this flight
@vedasticks
@vedasticks 6 жыл бұрын
Yes its kbar, i originally had a copterx 3x2000 on it which flew fine but i didnt trust it due to all the bad reports plus it was heavy. there are a few ways to isntall it, its possible to get it on the gyro tray, however the tray can flex plus its still slightly too big for the gyro tray. it wont fit inside the frames with the case, you can shave down the sides of the case until it fits, or decase it, when its decaused though it becomes challanging to mount flat. there is geometry concerns but it flies fine, depending on the servos you use you will probably find very low numbers for cyclic , ive read about people having 55 and it flies just fine. i used 213c turnigy servos for cyclic which allowed going in 1 hole more on the horn compared to other servos so the numbers are slightly higher but not by much. i also have a kbar on a trex 450, and wait for it.... trex 600 nitro. all fly great

I am in the process of taming it down. The cyclic is bouncing. Using neuron fbl

I am having same problem what was the reason. Is it because of vibration?

great simple to build plane. just try and keep it light, i made the mistake of using the heavier foamboard which needed a larger engine and 3s battery. It had a pretty bad stall and was a handfull to keep in a harrier but it did flyi n heavier winds

What sim program are you using? Most good ones allow you to change the physics%. So you can slow down the action and allow your fingers to catch up.

Its clearview. Not the greatest sim but good for getting the stick motions down. I dont feel that i need to slow things down. the half piroflip can be done pretty slow as it is. Ill be hopefully using phoenix soon

Damn I was watching those chair legs the whole time! There are a few scars on the walls and furniture here.... Seems as though turning the responsiveness up and dialling the transmitter sensitivity back (scaling overall % of travel back and possibly more expo) is the way to go. Look forward to more video :)
@vedasticks
@vedasticks 7 жыл бұрын
Not sure why i didint move the chair out the way. Scars??? Just moved into this place so the walls are pretty prestine. The chairs were left by the previous owner but there pretty good condition. Need to see how it handles outside particularly in the wind with the new settings. Though it was doing pretty good before just needed less cyclic gain

Hi ther thanks for your comment. gig was recorded with a tascam dr-05 using the mics on the Unit in a not so ideal location hence the slightly muffled vocal sound. I did plan on taking a desk feed but the venue only mic up vocals and kik (though i did stick a mic on the guitar) as it really is such a small place that you dont need much.

looking for a nice upgrade kit. saw one at helipal.com but 30 bucks seems high to me.
@vedasticks
@vedasticks 10 жыл бұрын
whats in the upgrade kit. To be honest the only things worth upgrading is the stock shaft to a carbon fibre one. Some have had good results by also changing the stock flybar to a paddle flybar but others havnt like it. If its an aluminium parts upgrade part. thats really a downgrade, those aluminium upgrade kits make the heli slow and heavy.

vedasticks Oh sorry fisheye swashplate is also a good upgrade but keep it plastic. should be able to get the cf shaft with fisheye swash plate of ebay for pretty cheap

vedasticks also the solo pro derlin gear is a good one. weighs in at .5 gram instead of .5 nothing to worry about as the power transfer is alot higher and they last much longer. all in all it does seem to give more power
@vedasticks
@vedasticks 10 жыл бұрын
I had the derlin gear, and at first everything was fine, but after a while thought the motor was shot or my batteries dead as it would not be able to climb very well and only last a minute before you couldnt fly anymore.Turns out that the derlin gear had chewed the pinion pretty badly, i switched back to the stock gear and despite the pinion it flew like new again.Based on that i dont recomend the upgrade gear/
@vedasticks
@vedasticks 11 жыл бұрын
yeah give it time to cool down inbetween batterries. Brushed motors can get hot and should have a short rest to cool down. Ive been flying my v911 for a good 3 months only replaced 1 main motor. You can put a few drops of oil on the shaft and allow it to seep into the bearings which should help motor life.
@vedasticks
@vedasticks 11 жыл бұрын
As for flight times, with the stock battery i get a good 5 minutes flight on a decent stock 120mah battery. 1 of mine seems to be wearing out faster so only get 3 on that. but with the stock 120mah battery its 5-6 minutes. 150mah will give a little you a little longer, but will make the heli heavier. 5-6 minutes flight time is about the longest you would want to fly anyway to get the longest life out of the motors. let them cool down inbetween batteries. By more batteries so you can fly longer.
@vedasticks

what upgrade do you meam/ as in upgrade from a different helicopter, or the upgrades i mentioned (CF shaft) if coming from a coaxial heli, yes its a great step up just remember that rudder control on 4 channel helicopters is on the left stick compaired to on the right on 2 and 3 channel helicopters. if you mean the upgraded parts, yes i recomend them. the CF shaft is 1g lighter than stock so it will increase flight times (upto 1 minute) and the fish eye swash makes it respond a little better.

I do not recomend the Derlin gear anymore, it chews the main motor pinion, doesnt seem to mesh well in the first place, and once the pinion is worn starts skipping teeth. The stock gear though works great even with the worn pinion.
