Do you recommend single fold over double fold for baby clothes and adult garments? I feel like 35 seems a bit wide for baby clothes?

Hi. Great information! When doing the washing, how do you recommend setting the washing machine to? Cold, warm? Gentle? Thanks
@AugustSewing Жыл бұрын
I washed on cold on a normal setting.I didn't want to use Gentle because I want all the lint to come off.

is the term, " not too bad " an opinion, or a fact ? I am glad that there was sunshine, as you can see if it is linen, or not, when you can see through the fabric, as there are a lot of people who call other fabrics, linen ( a bit like a generic term )when they are not linen, a bit like people calling nearly any vacuum cleaner a " hoover " when they are not made by hoover. are the weights you are quoting, the weight per square yard ? thanks.

Luv the giant table-top attached! I wish there was a TL Walking Foot + Zig Zag! I'd use it for bags/backpacks/thick foam/outdoor/leather.

It's a straight stitch machine.... straight stitches ONLY - no zig zag. That defeats the purpose of the machine.

I have this exact machine now . What pressure setting do you use for regular sewing? I was oiling the machine with a couple of drops in all of the required holes before sewing and noticed the machine is leaking oil. Maybe it doesn’t require so many drops. I’ve noticed when you come off the foot pedal the needle travels one extra stitch length and doesn’t stop immediately. Is yours the same? Would love to know your thoughts... Thanks!
@AugustSewing3 жыл бұрын
Hi. I have it on the medium pressure setting. The only time I've ever changed it is when I've had a really thick fabric going under with softnstable. People have said that this is a thirsty machine and you should oil it often. But, with that said, I'd go with just a drop if you're seeing oil. If everything else is working great, I wouldn't worry about it. But if you go into your dealer, you might want to ask about the leaking. I had the same issue with the machine not stopping. I thought it might be possessed, but alas it is a common issue, and should be fixed for free. It has to do with a solenoid not adjusted correctly. That should be under warranty.

Thank you so much! I live in MI and purchased the machine out of state online. So I’m kind of on my own with figuring this machine out:( It’s great to get advice from someone who actually is familiar with this model!

Which TL machine do you have? You don't say which model you have and I've read on Amazon that some of these feet don't fit the TL-2010Q because the needle hits them. Thanks for this video
@AugustSewing4 жыл бұрын
I have the 18qvp. Certainly, if you are unsure, you could ask goldstar tool directly. If you purchase on amazon and it is a prime item, I know you can return it if you need to.

Would you mind telling which parts numbers you ordered from him? I have same machine as you and the list is so confusing to me as I am new to cover stitching. Thank you so much.

I purchased plate and the 25.4 MM s124C which is folded over the edge of the fabric only. This is for fold over elastic that is one inch. Resulting in half an. inch on each side. You might also want to get a single fold which would be folded over on the top and not on the bottom. That would be for regular knit binding. Size is based on what you like. Seems like most people like 3/8 to half an inch showing. A half inch showing on top would be a 38mm. So I know this sounds confusing, but you have to look at the width of the binding you want and the width you want showing on top and then figure out what size you need based on the folds S124 C is folded once- divide binding width in half S124A is folded at the edge of the fabric and the upper edge of the binding that is on top of the garment - divide binding width by 3 S124B is folded at the edge and on the binding edge on the upper and lower sides - divide the binding width by 4 Hopefully that helps
