Hi, when I record the opening sound sequence, the MFX sound effects are not heard. Do you know what is causing this? Thank you very much.

Try this: when you enter in pattern sequencer, you have to go in Effects Edit and set MFX1 to Delay (delay left 1/8. - delay right 1/8. - feedback 40%)

Hello. I assume that i must record the midi tracks into an audio track to be able to export as a wave file. I only have cubase elements 12
@gianninitti
@gianninitti Ай бұрын
Ok, after you have done the configurations of this video you can add an "Audio" track in Cubase. Then select the audio input related to the Juno DS (you can add an audio bus input in the window you open hitting F4 and select JUNO-DS hardware). Then click Add a track. Enable recording of the audio track and start to record the audio track while midi tracks play. You don't need any audio external interface to do this. Finally, File -> Export -> Mixdown audio

@gianninitti I think I understand. But as stated, I do need the UR44 interface to record my audio tracks though, which is why I need the midi instruments converted into audio so I can hear them when UR44 is selected............? P.S. I've always struggled with technology

Ciao Gianni. I have been looking for some help to set this up and can't find ANY instructions until this video. I just bought the DS. I am running cubase Elements 12. I have the Ur44 interface. I just don't know what to do to set it up. Driver is downloaded and installed. Midi to interface. DS usb to Mac. Interface usb to Mac. I just don't speak Spanish. I want to have up to 16 midi tracks with separate sounds. I don't know how to setup cubase or juno( performance rx tx etc) . Can you help?
@gianninitti
@gianninitti Ай бұрын
Hi stephenprescott4441, I think it's more simple if you connect the DS via USB to Mac and follow the instructions of this video (it doesn't matter if you have a PC or a Mac). In this case you don't need an external audio interface too if you want to use cubase with your keyboard. You may need an audio interface only if you have to record audio tracks with microphone or record the audio of the keyboard. It depends on what you want to do. Let me know if something is not clear.

@gianninitti thank you so much for responding. My aim is to use vst, audio, and midi. I have multiple midi tracks now running in my cubase project, and I can only hear the sound when I select Juno in my CB studio setup. I obviously need to select the UR44 (interface) when I record audio (which cuts out the midi sounds). I suppose I could finalise my midi tracks first, convert each one to individual audio tracks (for future mixing balaning adding eq and effects, etc) and then record my audio and vst. What is unclear is why I can't have both running at the same time in studio setup- juno and UR44. I also noticed that there is no movement in the Master Out (red faders) on my CB mixing console, which is why i assume i need to convert them to audio when finalised (for export). Whereas vst instruments do appear. I am running Mac Studio Max. Cubase elements 12. Will CB Pro allow multiple interfaces simultaneously? I don't think that I missed anything. Thank you once again for your valuable input 🙏 P.s. I can't speak Spanish so I can't follow your video very well 😢 😆

@@stephenprescott4441 This topic is more related to Cubase than Roland JUNO keyboard... But I can say that when you connect the Roland Juno DS via USB cable, it works as an external audio interface. Then you can hear all the sound of the computer (also VST) from the DS output phones. If you connect another audio interface UR44 you will have the issue of mixing the 2 audio together to hear the audio from the first and from the second audio interface. On PC you can achieve this aim using ASIO4ALL drivers (you can find many videos on youtube) but on Mac I don't know if exists the equivalent of ASIO4ALL.

@@gianninitti thank you very much for your input Gianni. I have just recorded eight separate MIDI tracks and separately bounced them to audio files in the Cubase project. I then switched to the UR44 interface and completed some vocal and guitar work. I can record VST from either interface, as it is just a controller keyboard at that stage. I can then add effects to the midi audio recordings in the UR44 mode. It has been advised that I try running a line out of my UR44 interface into the back of the Juno DS at the 3.5 mm input jack (thru) next to the two output jacks. In that case, I can be using my UR44 simply as a mixing desk for the four imports that I use in it. It's worth a try, but will be doing tomorrow as it's getting late here in Australia. Ha ha
@stephenprescott4441
@stephenprescott4441 Ай бұрын
So if I don't need the UR44, does that mean I don't need the midi cables? Just the usb to Mac? Because at the moment, the midi cables from DS to UR44 and usb to the Mac. Then the UR44 has usb to Mac as well....?

Then play the second track with same chord and with the pitch bend that slowly go down: 1:08

The Roland Juno DSis great. It is more better than the old Atari 1040 STE with Doctor T software. The old days you set the channel on the synthesizer. Then set the channel on one track on Doctor T Software manually. Then set your synth sound on track 1 and the synth sound on channel 1 manually. Test the set up to see if it worked. Did it work, yes then put a eight bar loop on track 1. After that, quantities the track 1 to the nearest 16 th note. It was tedious but fun. Mike

Yes, but it depends also on which VST you use... many VSTs are able to receive data from a specific control change number. Then you can map the knobs to their specific control change
