Thanks for your honest opinion, it is worth alot even if some people disagree . Cool review , I like the pros and cons, so far I have seen only sponsored reviewers , keep up the good work being honest. You don't have to be a big engineer to have an opinion or to play guitar nicely.

I’ve got the SDE 3000 EVH. It’s a great sounding delay but it’s a bit annoying to learn how to program. Would have preferred something like the SDE 3 just to avoid drowning in menus

Awesome effort at a fair review. Both are great pieces of gear and I think you’ve demonstrated that nicely. Your point should be well taken, the Color Box V2 is a fantastic value and engineering marvel at its regular price. For anyone who takes the time to understand how versatile it is it’s just a no-brainer as you say. Getting it for $330 is the kind of deal you can feel good about forever. I realize for many that’s more than they can afford, so it doesn’t matter how good the value is and that’s a bummer. But for those who can and who enjoy tinkering and experimenting with knobs, tones, and textures, it’s a gift. It takes a lot of work to do a video like this, thanks again.

Hey man, please help me with this info so I can decide what to buy. Can you create custom layouts on UF8? For example to have my Aux tracks only on the UF8 faders.

Despite the HUI limitations, do you still prefer the SSL UF8 over the Avid S1? Great video by the way.
@RPMusicStudios
@RPMusicStudios 6 күн бұрын
@@DanSistos hi, I had the avid 3 and it was mainly a ergonomic issue. I will say that the panning resolution was way better on the S3 and the response was a bit snappier however I had to replace faders on the S 3 at least 8 times in 5 years of use. I like the workflow I have now but I think the Avid S1 with an extra iPad would be a great option.

This is a year ago. What if you were about to get new controllers now. Would you still get the ssl ecosystem or the new softube ecosystem?
@RPMusicStudios
@RPMusicStudios 8 күн бұрын
That’s a tough one. I really like the form factor of the softube and its integration with UAD and Fabfilter. I use both of their plugins a lot. I’ve been tempted to get the softube to test. I can say I am really happy with my set up now. I’m able to work efficiently BUT the 10 faders plus console one’s abilities and price point make it a hard choice.
@dannykirsch
@dannykirsch 8 күн бұрын
@ yes I’m in the same boat as you. I have the same set up as you however I have two UF8s. I mix with all my ssl units in 360 mode and aside from reverbs and delays I literally mix only with the ssl 4kb on every channel. I’m getting the best sounding mixes I’ve ever gotten and I mix so unbelievably fast without ever looking up at my computer monitor and I’m barely touching the mouse. It’s a dream and yet the new softube controllers really have got me tempted to change. My 2 UF8s are split as they are either side of the uf1 and uc1 and soni can occasionally get a bit lost whereas with softube I would have ten faders directly in front of me and then the console 1 mk3 would be behind the faders. Even though I’m so quick on the ssl ecosystem, I’m 100% happy with my mixes and it feels like an analogue desk I’m still tempted by the fact that on the console 1 I could easily use fabfilter pro q 3 for my eq, fabfilter pro C for my compression etc etc with those great looking screens on the console 1. I’ll probably stick with ssl as it’s all about speed and workflow for me being a pro mixing and mastering engineer and producer and the quality is right up there but temptation is always lurking in the back of my mind 😀

I just got .. another gx 100...had id 2 years ago....1 it's incredible if you learn to do a global high and low cut....2 the ease of use and quality effects are incredible more so than a floor Helix , Fractal, or even the TMP . Finally 3....if you are not crazy about and of the gain amps in the unit ....I suggest getting a IRX , IRJ, putting it in the loop and be done. Today a GX is 500 and a IRX is basically 500. To get sounds out of amps , individual pedals etc...to equal this capability you will spend over $5k ... I use two Katana Artist in stereo and the stereo width with true AB 200 watt power with a real cab is insane. I do love the Laney FR stuff btw plus they look incredible. Secret sauce for tone... In global set high cut at 6.3 or even 5k if run into speakers...low cut at 100 for a cab and 123 for speakers 💯👍🏻
