I hate hunters…. I see there are cowards n most of them have their comments turned off… so I really really hope when they go out to hunt they become the hunted…they become the prey… that’s they get their hands and arms so maimed they can never hold a gun to hunt again…fingersXxxx

@@dinotamer7774 but they weren’t in the woods and the bear would get scared from gunfire anyway so he didn’t have to shoot IT. Mfking bear already ran away from the first shot yet they had to kill him. do you even hunt?

@@richarddoucet7661 Yes every year, I hunt for elk and deer. I always believe its takes one shot to bring an animal down and thats the shot I take
@richarddoucet76613 жыл бұрын
@@imranyousufzai2007 that's surprising. because as a hunter you also know that hunting moose in alaska isn't easy. And that sometimes mistakes are made. AND that the first shot was likely a kill shot and the following ones were just to bring it down quicker. Then again you NEVER miss a shot right?
@imranyousufzai20073 жыл бұрын
@@richarddoucet7661 I never hunted moose so I can't talk about it, though i want to someday. yes I have missed but never got opportunity for a second shot. My goal is always one shot one down, so far I'm lucky with that approach, most animals I shot were 100 yds or less. I never intended this is to be a controversy, I just take my time and shoot the shot I'm comfortable with. Peace brother safe hinting

Is it true your not supposed to shoot a bear in the head because they have thick skulls I don’t hunt but I carry a 40cal hand gun because so many bears in the bush when I’m walking with my kids
@BlairStOnge3 жыл бұрын
Bears have a thick skull but most commonly carried handgun cartridges will punch through that skull. The problem arises when the bullet hits the bone at an angle causing it to glance off.

Appreciate your videos! Two quick questions, what caliber are you using? Both the first and second shot looked like they had good placements, yet you found it necessary to fire two more. You must have lost alot of meat?
@TrailingTheHuntersMoon4 жыл бұрын
Hi Sondre! Thank you for watching! I was shooting a .300 Win Mag in a Ruger M77 Hawkeye, with a Trijicon 5-20x50 AccuPoint scope and Hornady Precision Hunter, 200gr ELD-X ammo. I'm a believer that if the animal is still on his feet, to keep shooting. Moose are big! The work that follows shooting a moose, to quarter and pack the meat back to camp is a chore, and to keep the moose from getting further away, I put the moose down as quickly as possible, while I had the opportunity. As far as meat wasted, very little. Only a little rib meat on one side and a little shoulder meat was unusable.
@ruffoutdoors89873 жыл бұрын
@@TrailingTheHuntersMoon as a huge hornady fan of both their SST and ELD-X, both are poor choices for a moose and it shows. By shooting until he hit the ground was the correct thing, only mistake was choosing that bullet for a moose. Partition, Accubond, barnes TSX all great for moose. Congrats on a nice bull though!
@BlairStOnge3 жыл бұрын
Ruff Outdoors if you have Facebook, check out the group Medium Bore Enthusiasts. We are firm believers that even with the right bullet, you’re still better off with calibers larger than 30 cal. 338, 358 and 375 deliver so much more energy on the largest game. I’ve seen so many videos like this where the animal is hit perfectly but the bullet is simply too small.
@ruffoutdoors89873 жыл бұрын
@@BlairStOnge thanks, and only a fool would argue that bigger isn't better on a moose. I guess my point is if your going to use smaller calibers for moose, do your research and choose the best bullet for the job. The ELD-X is a good bullet, just not for moose.
