If this is an interview about a classic race car viewers to your channel really need to see more than a static view from the front of the vehicle. It would of held more interest if the bonnet was opened and the B series engine and whatever performance pieces shown. There was a general talk about MGA parts being used but nothing specific? Does it run a fuel cell (for safety) or just the factory original tank. As for the interior...who knows? Did the owner fit any supplementary gauges (a tacho)? How much has it been lowered? If so how was it lowered (at the rear) reset springs or lowering blocks? Have the wheels been widened, if so by how much? Are tramp rods fitted to the rear suspension? Has anything been done to the drum brakes to improve braking at race speeds? Harder lining material, drilled drums and backing plates for improved cooling? Not trying to rain on your parade just trying to illicit a more immersive interview.

That was a mark2 Escort Estate. The back is the same as a mark1 but the mark2 has a square front. The bonnet is level with the wings , the mark1 bonnet is lower than the wing giving it a round effect. I grow up with all these cars and love seeing them especially so far from home. Why no Weber's? So this car does not comply to any competition regulations at all? A pity a great car!

These won the East African Safari 4 times in 1963, 1966, 67 & 68. In 1963 only 7 cars (nick named the magnificent 7) reached the finish line. And these were all near standard cars not heavily supported by a factory team. The African continent fell in ove with the indestructable 404 !

You understand the car, the car understands you. Too many memories tied up in it for you. I think the Dolly is best preserved in you capable and caring hands. Start her up and take around the block once in a while. Good luck.

Love these postwar Peugeots, my choice is upto the 504 model. 🗼They were built strong, the bodywork, engine and running gear. We had a number of the 203, 403, 404, 504's, 302's in Uganda back in the 1950's to 70's, before the Japanese cars took over. My school headmaster had an immaculate green 203, which I recall was always parked in front of his office. There were also a few of the pickup versions also but by the late 60's on the 403, 404 and later 504 models took over.🚙

Are they still available? Especially the 504 coupe
@mohabatkhanmalak11617 ай бұрын
They are available, but you will need to search. They are mostly in enthusiasts hands, and people age so are either sold or stored in barns, home garages or farms.One place to search is the home country, France.@@wilsonne6

Hi Jim, you mentioned special tools for taking apart these overdrives so I did some Googling and found this video. Not sure if it's the same overdrive as yours but it might be useful as he just used normal hand tools and a flanged bolt to remove some of the valve bodies. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fafKaZJvhMmlnMU
