They were a bad design. Cheap and cheerful. Bad wood with a week spring holding the fore end to the barrel. There no plastic which was good. They were very straight in the stock.

I have an old Iver Johnson that I got at a flea market for $20 it shot alright but t9 break open and cock the hàmmer it took a lot of work and muscle to do so so after test firing I gone homeand found out why who ever had it before did not clean the cosmlene from the factory and just kept adding oil to it so after taking it apart the whole inside was all gumed up with the stuffcleaning it out I had found the in sides to be all most perfect put it back together I had a almost brand new 12GA just hàd to redo the out side

The issue I had with the Hornady unit was the fiinish inside to bore the plunger worked in, the plunger was catching on it, number of other people did too. Lyman had an issue with the length of the plunger pin for a bit, they were replacing them. Folks need to keep bugging 21st Century to build one with a tray again.

Just got this its far superior to their last series. I got 3 m249's(one is mk46 with bullgear hopup and maple leaf barrel) and I wish they performed like this beast. Not as nice as an lct but still huge upgrade from A & K pre toilet paper apocalypse. The only complaints are the orange plastic m4 tip that I removed put a UFC mk43 style flash hider on it, the grip and carry handle are pretty cheap quality. Real LMG sling is a must. Side note I am rebuilding the mk46 internals soon so hopefully it will perform like you would hope when looking at it.

What depth are you seating your primers at ? Factory shells are 0.004" below flush. I get better groups with 0.007" below flush. some like 0.008" to 0.010" below. You got about 0.013" to 0.015" below flush before you bottom out.. Better to go lower for floating firing pin guns. (AR's, BLR's ,BAR's) Frankford Arsenal Platinum Hand Priming Tool can be adjusted to 0.015 below flush..
