If your heater dont blow hot,check for: -Coolant( Must be decent color) no water base coolant. - Fuses - Wiring -Thermostat Always check the easiest and cheapest things first. ❤

Can you use normal needlenose vice grips to clamp the hose? Any danger of damaging the hose? What is the alternative...draining the system?

I was surprised to see a gasket between the thermostat housing and the water pump in the video. I thought the thermostat rubber gasket was all that was used to seal it. Thus, the minimal 9-foot lbs. of torque, which prevents smashing the rubber gasket and causing a future leak.

I have a question. I am new to the commercial mower. I just got purchase me a SCAG 2 V -RIDE. Do you keep the throttle on high all the time or depends on the length of the grass?

My 2013 Ram doesn’t need a gasket for the housing. The gasket seal is on the thermostat itself.

But the video completely leaves out the sharpening process! I own a SCAG 30" walk behind. I have previously owned a Honda and a 30" TORO TIMEMASTER. One thing I have discovered is that the SCAG blade is far different than any blade I have ever owned. The SCAG blade has a specially hardened cutting edge, far harder than anything I have ever encountered, even other touted "hardened steel" blades. The SCAG blade is a SOB to sharpen! And that is a GOOD thing! You can do what you want, but for me, I will NEVER use a grinding wheel to sharpen a mower blade. The intense heat destroys the blade's "temper." I use the largest, badest, longest-handle bastard file I can find and sharpen by hand.
