Here we come to a turning of the season Witness to the arc towards the sun The neighbor's blessed burden within reason Becomes a burden borne of all in one And nobody, nobody knows Let the yoke fall from our shoulders Don't carry it all, don't carry it all We are all our hands in holders Beneath this bold and brilliant sun But this I swear to all A monument to build beneath the arbors Upon a plinth that towers towards the trees But every vessel pitching hard to starboard Lay it's head on summer's freckled knees And nobody, nobody knows Let the yoke fall from our shoulders Don't carry it all, don't carry it all We are all our hands in holders Beneath this bold and brilliant sun This I swear to all And this I swear to all And there a wreath of trillium and ivy Laid upon the body of the boy Lazy will the loam come from it's hiding Return his quiet certitude to the soil So raise a glass to turnings of the season And watch it as it arcs towards the sun And you must bear your neighbor's burden within reason And your labors will be borne when all is done And nobody, nobody knows Let the yoke fall from our shoulders Don't carry it all, don't carry it all We are all our hands in holders Beneath this bold and brilliant sun And this I swear to all And this I swear to all And this I swear to all And this I swear to all To all, to all, to all

Which town was the Michigan/MSU game at? Ann Arbor or Lansing? I feel like I could’ve been there… off to look this up to see if the timing aligned and I had no idea bc I was at a college FB game and likely inebriated. How fun.

I'm an engine driver On a long run, on a long run Would I work beside her? She's a long one, such a long one And if you don't love me, let me go And if you don't love me let me go I'm a country lineman On a high line, on a high line So will be my grandson There are power lines in our bloodlines And if you don't love me, let me go And if you don't love me, let me go And I am a writer, writer of fictions I am the heart that you call home And I've written pages upon pages Trying to rid you from my bones My bones My bones I'm a money lender I have fortunes upon fortunes Take my hand for tender I am tortured, ever tortured And if you don't love me, let me go And if you don't love me, let me go And I am a writer, writer of fictions I am the heart that you call home And I've written pages upon pages Trying to rid you from my bones I am a writer, I am all that you have home Home And I've written pages upon pages Trying to rid you from my bones My bones My bones And if you don't love me, let me go (And if you don't love me, let me go) And if you don't love me, let me go

This is the ONLY thing missing from my NoJo collection. MUST rectify that. I mean it's Norah Jones who I could not adore more if I wanted to, because I already adore her to the maximum, and her two incredibly talented friends, in a band.

Years ago, a buddy of mine and I didn't really have anywhere to play guitar so we'd play sitting on the gate of his pickup. The only time we could jam was after he was done with 2nd shift, so we'd drive to this remote dead end road in the hills that had one street light. This was back when -every- light shown with that warm orangish yellow from the sodium lamps. It was always hot, sticky, and still, but at least the bugs were drawn to the light. So we were drawn to the light just like them, and none of us wanted to bother anybody else. Bats were drawn too, but at least they weren't eating us. We'd just hang out for hours in the middle of the night playing guitar for bugs and bats, occasionally taking breaks to toss small sticks up near the light to watch a bat swoop up and back down as it perfectly followed the stick. Anyways... this reminded me of that. You guys are just playing... I can't imagine walking by on the sidewalk and figuring out you guys were jamming and it wasn't just a sweet sound system playing a sweet song.
