*THE FUNERAL* "I'm comin' up only to hold you under And comin' up only to show you're wrong And to know you is hard, we wonder To know you all wrong, we won Ooh Ooh Really too late to call, so we wait for Morning to wake you, is all we got And to know me as hardly golden Is to know me all wrong, they warn At every occasion, I'll be ready for the funeral At every occasion, once more, it's called the funeral At every occasion, oh, I'm ready for the funeral At every occasion, oh, one billion day funeral I'm comin' up only to show you down for And comin' up only to show you're wrong To the outside, the dead leaves lay on the lawn For they don't have trees to hang upon Ooh Ooh At every occasion, I'll be ready for the funeral At every occasion, once more, it's called the funeral At every occasion, oh, I'm ready for the funeral At every occasion, oh, one billion day funeral"

Lost someone very dear and special to me. I was with her for several years when we both got into sobriety. We broke up due to a road that she was going back down to that I couldn’t bare to watch. I’m married and have a beautiful son now with my wife. My ex died and I attended the funeral today. It’s sooo hard and confusing to navigate the emotional state that I am in. I felt like I could have done more to help her but I had to leave. I didn’t want to get sucked back into that lifestyle. Her best friend at the funeral told me she loved me so much. I loved her so much too. She died at 29 and a part of me died that day. It doesn’t feel right and fentanyl is the worst thing to come into existence. I wish I was stronger then to be able to help in the way she needed. Two weeks ago I had a feeling to call her but felt it wouldn’t have been right and brushed it off. Hardest lesson learned…. Reach out while you can

Hehe i would secretly meet up with my guy and this was our song lol. God he was hot 😂
First time I thought his voice was bleh but then I remembered I am a teacher and I have to hear kids screaming all day, so I listened to the song again. This is actually amazing. I'm... Wow.

There is a Chinese poem which reads “长恨此身非我有,何时忘却营营” (liberally means always hating this body/life doesn’t belong to me, when can I forget about all of these petty things). I guess this is mostly what I feel when listening to this song.

Randomly watched "Love and Honor" yesterday - movie was a solid one, 6 out of 10. Then the movie's end titles with this song followed and easily made it a movie I will keep in mind forever. Incredible what sometimes music can do.

My grandma died 2 weeks ago. Suddenly this song popped up inside my head. Totally forgot that it existed. Absolutely loved this song during my first depressive episode as a teenager. So glad I came back here. This song hits different after all these years. After all this times full of loss, blessings and lessons. August 2024

Sorry about your loss. My Grandma was the mother I needed and one of my best friends. I lost her September 4th, 2008- 3 weeks before my 17th birthday, and 2 days after I was in a treatment facility. I miss her all the time. She truly loved me. 🥺🥹

Personally, I love "How I Met your Mother" and think it is the perfect show that embodies what it means to be a Millennial. Life is filled with little moments of joy and triumph, followed by huge crushing loss, and only through reflection can you realize, "OH SHIT, things CAN GET WORSE...Like, MUCH WORSE. eh, time to settle."
