Just a few notes. The flywheel should be machined equally on both surfaces. Disc surface and pressure plate mounting surface to retain the correct distance. Also the main issue with these old factory dual carbs are the throttle shaft bushings. Absolutely make sure the shaft/bushings are perfect. There is a huge write up on the correct steps to adjust/set the carbs. When they are perfect there is nothing better as a dual carb setup but if one thing out of 30 adjustments is out they are hours and hours and hours of diagnosing.

I really enjoy to see your videos! Excellent made! As my 1952 NSU kick-lambretta needed same coparable support some years ago I am really ecited to see you working on the right engine side which I could not finish finally. Everything else is comparably easy to fix I feel… so I left out gearbox as well as right side main sealing. So the scooter is running well, but consuming and loosing gearbox oil. Luckily not leaking into the brake. Frank

Next time, if you take the carrier bolts out at the top of the gearbox bell housing you can drop the engine down with the gearbox with the engine totally complete. I think you need to undo the small screw for the gearchange linkage and pull the linkage off the front of the gearbox so it doesn't bend.

An easier way to remove the pilot bearing from the rear of the crankshaft is to just stuff white bread into the hole using the clutch alignment tool. The bread dough will force the old bearing out. Only takes a couple slices of white bread to do the job. Use only the white bread, no the crust.

My father bought me a second hand one of these in 1972 for £10. I was 15 and knew nothing about mechanics, nor did my father. Consequently it kept me very fit as it was a pig to start and I spent more time peddling like a lunatic to get it started, which on occasion it did. The rear wheel was on the ground even when the bike was on the stand, so I had to literally pedal or run with the bike. That flimsy stand design was absolutely diabolical. Oh happy days 😅😅😅 they came with a large rigid bag that sat on the back for shopping, so I assume it was aimed at the female market.
