This song was the sh*t back in the day!! Aint we funkin Now and Ill be good to you!!!Still is in 1/1/2025!!!Man I got tears in my eyes right now because this type of music is gone and never to return!!But it brings back good and cool memories!!!All we have left are these certain soul artist still performing at 80 plus years old. Keeping things alive! Yes to me, the music of the 60s, 70s, and 80s were the Hight of our Soul music heritage. But again its Gone, never to return.

Russell was the original and there will never be another like him. But Eban sure came as close as anyone could ever have done.

NOTE-I POSTED THESE COMMENTS ON ANOTHER VIDEO ABOUT THE BROTHERS JOHNSON(LIVE AT LA-FROM 1980)-AND KZbin SWITCHED MY SHIT AND PUT IT HERE, WHERE I NEVER INTENDED ITTO BE! MOTHERFUCKERS! ANYWAY THE FOLLOWING IS WHAT I POSTED, BUT ON ANOTHER VIDEO! Louis played that bass like a MACHINE-GOING AT FULL SPEED-LIKE A PILEDRIVER! I first saw them in 1980, in Detroit, at the Joe Louis Arena, and to see this video, after all of these years, especially at the part of the solo on "Stomp", reminded me of when I saw them in 1980-we, the record buying public, had never seen another person, ever play the bass like this(and still haven't to this day)-his hands are going so fast it looks like he's slapping the strings continuously with an open hand-which inspired to play in the manner I ended up learning, but the process took me about ten years(yes it took me that long), after first seeing Louis play like this, but in the process, I believe I came up with something a little different! I no longer play the electric bass/bass guitar the way I used to, but that's another story-suffice to say, Louis Johnson was PHENOMENAL! He was also, the only bass player I've ever seen to this day that, WHENEVER he hit the strings of the bass to play it, it elicited throngs of "ahhs" from the crowd(consider, this was a major arena; it sat twenty thousand I'm told)! To this day I've never seen another bass player elicit that type of response from the crowd-and I've seen and heard some of the best this world has ever produced, but THERE WAS NEVER ANYONE ELSE LIKE HIM! And-it might be considered old news now, but you have to consider the perspective and context of the time in which Louis Johnson was prominent, and played like he did; there simply was NO ONE ELSE ON THIS EARTH LIKE HIM! And by context I mean, the abundance and popularity of creative and stimulating music, coming from this country, from the various genres that existed at that time, especially from the 1950s to the 1980s, allowed for such a player like Louis Johnson, to develop and come to the level of fame and prominence that he attained to! And when he died it appears the media didn't mention it at all; if they did it was given very little mention! From what I remember, I didn't find out about his passing until about a year after it occurred! I understand this was a similar case for a lot of other of his fans! Considering his MAJOR INFLUENCE upon most bass guitarists at that time, certainly most who were in the African-American community, I thought it was a slap in the face, to the memory of this great and phenomenal, and greatly influential bass player, called Louis Johnson! 12-12-24.
