I discovered Sasha Berliner when I was watching the Emmett Cohen video live from Emmett’s place and she was playing the vibraphone along with saxophonist Nicole Glover and watching the way Sasha was on that Viber phone. I fell in love. She is amazing and I looked her up and I purchased a vinyl copy of her album that came out two years ago. Still waiting for upcoming compositions.

anyone thinking that that electric vibrophone should have stayed home?

Wonderful! Refreshing ideas to lift the song (Valentine) this way. I don’t see any monitors despite the (supposedly) special acoustics in such a room. Impressive in that blowing tempo!

Rude, totally disrespectful audience. You’re listening to MUSIC, you assholes! She should have stopped playing and told them all to shut the F#&* up

I prefer very much the variety of tone and expression you get on the acoustic vibraphone!

The electronic instrument with its continuous sustain and portamento and fixed volume reminds me of a toy instrument from the 70’s called a Stylophone.

What is your concept in terms of sound? You always struck me as having an amazing swing feel and your sound on the vibes is great.

Sasha! ,, as i listened to the excellent way that you do "My Funny Valentine"!, It occurred to me?, in an instant! " you must do that with "Ari Roland"..! (between his ARCO, And your inter-modular conversation with it, the outcome would be incredible! (Just take a look at how he plays with "Pasquale")PS (i love when you do Smalls

The solo/improv om the malletstation is very impressive. Although the sound it makes at the attack can be a bit annoying after while. Still I love these kind of innovative instruments

That was an interesting presentation. I'm an older enthusiast of the vibraphone. I've played some in the past, but I enjoy seeing what young players are doing these days. When I was a kid, I studied briefly with Gary. Later, I became acquainted with Mainieri and Tony Miceli. Vibists all seem to be very nice people. You have a lot of talent. At times, you sound like a very young Gary in your phrasing. All the Best to you as you pursue your career.

Thanks for sharing, this is a great arrangement of 'My Funny Valentine', I watched it recently on you latest gig at Smalls. That was really great...Love that repeating, recurring loop/vamp that serves both as intro and outro underneath the drum break that at the end...Is that progression Ebmaj9/G - E/Gb - Gb/Ab - Ab/Bb? Cheers from Brazil.
