The first Enzo (now Brisa) you showed is the Elver and not the Trapper. I prefer the Elver. I'm surprised you did even find one since they are out of production for some time already. I always make a difference between the knives you need and the knives you want. But I'm a collector so when I see a very good deal on a knife I like I buy it and if I no longer want it probably sell for more than I paid.

I'm not sure you want to question the masculinity of every Australian man. We live in a country with highly restrictive knife laws that even limit capacity to carry a mutli-tool. Funnily enough, we still manage to open boxes and so on without carrying a knife.

Well this was fun. It's been awhile since the "Right amount of Wrong" club got together. Don't mind if I warm myself by the fire...Macallan 18 Year Old Double Cask? If you insist...just 3 fingers is fine. There is a never ending tension here isn't there? The spirit is willing but the flesh...ah yes. Weak indeed. The sharing of ideas and promises, empty or otherwise, is why we gather. I'm writing down the explanation of comparing D2 to O1 right now. It sounds like an excuse but really...So reasonable. So, so...necessary. How could the most important person in my house refuse?! As the lead Necromancer, visionary and slave to the algorithm, you are obligated, nay compelled to feed the gaping maw an endless daisy chain of creative morsels. Different models, steels, edges, applications, sheaths...and we are grateful for your sacrifice! No rationalizing necessary. You are but a supplicant to the machine. Thank-you for both the invitation for indulgence, prudence and oh, the depravity of it all! Can I have an amen?!

@@knifetimestory How very gracious of you to share so enthusiastic a reception to my comment. It has long been obvious from your channel and all the more so from your blog that you are wildly overqualified to perform for the rabble here. Pearls before swine indeed. Years ago at the BLADE SHOW at the Becker stand they were pushing that point ..weak point. This was back when they were ending the old stamp. they had a show special of the Escabars bk 14 .. at $15 a piece .( I dropped a years ‘allowance’ there n then lol) . They must’ve had 1000 there. But they were showing that by stamping them : the knives were caused to take a one to five degree bend at the stamp… they were putting on the glass counter and you could see it.. now those are small knives… and they may be just a small percentage of rejects or seconds… anyways I just thought I would throw that out there.. Also, I heard on the blade forums that those black coated Beckers was common to find the blade finish, not as finished as a usual noncoated knife. I stripped and polished with my 2x72 and wet sanding paper over ? 4 hours trying to make that bk2 a show piece .. in the end I gave up . But it doesn’t ‘stick’ like it use too. Ha ha

Excellent comment. Thank you very much for that. I will say this… I always take with a grain of salt with any one of those sales people/booth attendant tells me at a blade show. To give you an idea when I went to the last one, Bob Terzuola was at the Spyderco booth. He signed one of my knives with a ceramic rod from the newly introduced triangle sharp maker. 1995.
@Jimthechevywheelman10 сағат бұрын
Wow how cool getting Bob T . Signature! I am a little ‘stupid’ crazy about his cqb knives no matter who made them ( Camillus , Darrell, Ralph or Merico ) .. wasted too much money on blade blanks and proto types too of his CQB s ; funny how one can get obsessive in this hobby. But I have a narrow view it’s basically built around Camillus western Becker and Remington. ( I I make a rule not to touch Case or the most other brands - now if I find it in the woods,,,,, )( but I do like watching modifying ( well most anything) ). Very much enjoy your wit. Keep up the good / great channel ! I’m fixing to get a new knee so you may see me comment a bit ( specially if they have me on some good pain relief) .

New subscriber here. I used to go to Blade show for a few years , quit three years ago. Was into pocket knives and 5 inch lock backs for many years . Inherited a bunch of knives from my dad. ( he collected USA,made Schrade) My daughter started going to blade shows with me and got me interested in tactical knives. I quit going about three years ago (it’s saving me a ton of money !!! ) You’re right , I only use about six knives. For EDC and projects /around the house. I’m 66 and all my kids, grandkids and son-in-law’s, all have Swiss army knives and Spyderco delicas from me . My dad worked at fabricating and testing hydraulic cylinders…. in his old toolbox were a couple old hickory knives that he used to cut the packings. I restored those old carbon steel wooden handle knives and try to make use of one when I can . They sure take a sharp edge…. Somehow you mentioning the mora makes me think of the old Hickory. ( u don’t have to spend a fortune on a good tool, there’s plenty of deals out there) Best to you.

Great comment!! Thank you very much for sharing that story. I too stopped going to Blade shows because as soon as I got a credit card, I found myself in deep deep deep trouble. Back in the early days of the shows it was all cash. And when the cash was gone you were done. Now everybody has a credit card machine. Very dangerous!

Great vid. Good to learn a bit about Randall knives. I would like to get one, one day. Prices though? Ouch! I first heard about them reading a story in Blade Magazine decades ago. A knife collector/dealer bought one, found a service number on it and tracked down the former owner who had hocked it many years back. The former owner asked about the price and it was too much, he wanted to by it for his son who was graduating and infantry course somewhere. After talking to the former owner, he mulled over it a bit, then packed it up and sent it to him, possibly with a note about making it easier to contact him for the next time around.

Can’t take a penny with you buddy. You enjoy your hobby. I’m 6 months and 19 days into my no new knife for a year resolution. I’ve hung tough. I am noticing I’m enjoying my collection and realizing if I ever spend another dollar on a knife I’m just being eccentric. I’m noticing gravitating to smaller blades and full size handles in my daily tasks around the property. I enjoy inexpensive knives and agree Mora could fill all rolls of knife use, and spending big money ain’t necessary, but there’s a difference in working wood with a Bark River 3V Gunny Scandi and a Mora Companion. A fellow should indulge himself if he works and earns a living. Glad you have some new projects to customize and tinker with. Always good to see you put up a video buddy. Thanks. Those Esse leather pouch sheaths are really good. I use them on several of my Mora knives as well. Knife Connection sells really nice leather pouch sheaths with danglers or W/O and with firesteel loops. I have several of them.

@@knifetimestory I've been carrying my Para 3 LW constantly for 3 years now. Even clip it to my pajamas. 😁 Love it! Never had a pocket knife that I liked as much.
