My library in Alaska will not get this book.Regarding your request for the title Food of the Gods by Terrance McKenna, I am writing to let you know the Library will not be purchasing this title, as it is dated - it won’t cover newer knowledge or discoveries, and therefore may have potentially incorrect information. McKenna was a bit too to close to the transhumanist agenda for my liking. He's excessive faith in the ability of technology (developed by speaking monkeys , no less!) to lead on to some kind of utopian trancendence for humankind was and is too optimistic.

Maybe it's off by ten years and its 12/21/22. Although, the theory still isnt totally blown because the increase in novelty does not necessarily mean a giant catastrophe, it could very well be a shift in Global economy or even more likely a radical change in the collective consciousness of humanity, a breakthrough in any number of technologies etc.
