I know exactly what hes talking about when somehow you know when something is gonna happen to you. I get that premonition with certain things like w my cats. One day i said....jimmi i love you. I teared up as we looked into each others eyes....next day he went missing. I think he was shot by a neighbor boy it was hunting season. Happened also w my sisters dog she was living w me. Premonition dream. That a river took my sisters dog. Sure enough her dog passed within a month. Same w my mom. And my dad. I knew it was their time.

Reading the comments this fellow outlived my dad who died 2003. My dad was too young to be in the ww2. He did join the Korean war and was an airplane mechanic. I was too young to think of asking about his experiences. And life got busy for me and so on.

I have to check back in with you. My Dad died this past year. He was also a replacement with the 28th, 109th Regiment. This video is so special for my family. Love your Dad. Recently it occurred to me that the song “I’ll be home for Christmas” holds a special meaning for our families. My Father got hit on Nov 11th around 10:45 AM during a push forward. He had to cut off what remained of his right arm with his bayonet after he got hit. It took almost 8 hours for him to get to the aid station. He didn’t make it home for Christmas as expected. Instead he was in so much agony he didn’t remember anything from the month of December. That was his “ home for Christmas” so I will never hear that song in the same way; he was in torture instead. God Bless those “boys.” Thank them for everything we have today.

This interview was one of the best that I had ever heard. The WW2 veteran told it the way it was. The raw truth. Unfortunately, the two interviewers kept stopping and redirecting his train of thought and memories and asking silly questions and worrying about how much tape was being used to record it. Meaning that they hadn't come properly prepared. His information was pure gold rarely spoken about, uncleansed, true feelings from a WW2 soldier. So few of these men are alive today to share this type of first hand experiences with such great memory. It's a shame that the interviewers didn't have instinct to capture everything that this soldier had to share

Thank you for the movie. My Uncle Henry D. Rivas was in the 112th 28th Division, he was killed on November 8, 1944, somewhere in the Hurtgen Forrest. A great oral history!

I really liked this interview. You let Him tell His story without blaring over it with music until He started talking about where all the weapon’s come from in Kosovo then You clipped Him off like Hilary Clinton Did to Ambassador Christopher Steven’s when He started investigating stuff much like The Biden Iranian Terror financing chicanery . A lot of those Career Politicians and their lickspittle Generals who issue chicken shit rules of engagement are burning the candles at both ends. They and the Terrorists are all licking the same pot. I like the way Sparky tells it, just like My Uncles and all the other old Vets I grew up Hunting and working with would .

It's good but also important to remember, they're not allowed to order you to commit suicide, don't say "No!" they can shoot you! But you can explain it's not survivable! Uncle Olen, 82 nd airborne, all WW2! And don't bunch up, make small targets,!🤔 🇺🇦💙🇺🇲

I loved this guy! Beetle Bailey, Sad Sack, Audie Murphy, and Captain America, all rolled into one!😂 I do love his honest tail from the perspective of a foot soldier on the front lines. I love how he describes his view of the war as just what was in front of them.

What a great man! I wish i could have met him. Some years ago, I had the honor of meeting and talking at some lenth with a man who fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He was supposed to receive a Bronze Star, but it didn't happen due to some sort of mix up. In his nineties, he finally received the medal. I asked him what specific actions led to him earning the medal. He chuckled and said "I fought like hell". He also told me that he believed Patton is the reason we won the war.

My great grandfather was in ww2 in Romania. He was a truck driver. He escaped death many times. Once he drove over a land mine, his passenger lost his legs. the OTHER TIME. He accidentally drove through RUSSIAN LINES, but because the truck was so muddy the Russians did not notice. (They could not read the Romanian plates )He drove through 40 minutes of Russian line while transporting 5 Romanian officers. The ENTIRE TIME he did not say a word. After he entered Romanian lines , he told the officers what happened. they gave him a medal. (Which I have to this day )

William, thank you for uploading these two wonderful conversations with your Dad. I knew two guys who were in the 28th and heard their recollections. It's easy to tell from listening to your Dad (and I have enjoyed multiple views of his interview) here that he was the real deal.

Mr. Kisse offers excellent insight to what soldiers experienced during those times. He is a wonderful story teller and so easy to listen to. So many veterans do not want to speak about what they saw and experienced because of the terrible memories. Thank you Sparky.

Definitely one of my favourite interviews, would be awesome if there was more material, I could listen to this gentleman for hours. So sad that he is gone, my condolences to you and your family, William. This is really really sad, that there are fewer and fewer veterans from that time. They had and have so much to tell and we have so much to learn. Greetings from Germany.

This video is amazing. I’m so glad it was produced. My grandmothers are both over 100 and I constantly think of my grandfathers lately. One grand pa was in the pacific an got real banged up. The war was over for him and my other grandfather was in Italy. When I watch this vid make me feel so much emotion. They never really spoke of the war with us so hearing this great American tell about his life experiences in the war somehow brings me back to sitting with my grandfathers. What a Great Generation.
