Why was Logics analysis so short? Considering such a huge drop compared to the previous softwares and considering its apples own DAW?

James, I've learned so much from you through these terrifically important video reviews. As someone needing a new computer soon (and still using a nearly 9 year old Intel Mac that's barely coughing along), I'm wondering if you might consider a follow-up of your study when the upcoming M4 MacBook & Pro line-up is released. Your research has already completely exploded the idea that "newer" Macs = better Macs for music production, and that more CPU (without accounting for the nuanced factor of performance vs efficiency cores in that CPU) = a more powerful machine for music. Incredibly important and critical information that all of us need to know. I still am astounded that Apple's own DAW - Logic - isn't optimized for efficiency cores, and that when performance cores are reduced in favor of efficiency cores Apple actually weakens its own computers for music production. Incredible! And so very discouraging. I will be forwarding your videos to everyone I know in this field.

I think 32GB would actually be more than enough. I think it's more about the CPU itself... If I want to upgrade (and if I want to get some portability) which is better? 1. MacBook Air M2 16/512 2. MacBook Pro M2 Pro 16/512 I'm using very CPU intense plugins from iZotope (Ozone 11 etc...), Kontakt, Fabfilter etc... is the M2 enough or should I go with a M2 pro? Thanks in advance...

Question: my mid 2010 Mac Pro (2 x 3.46 Xeon; 64gb) is no longer supported by Apple and it’s time to upgrade. Looking at the 16” MBP to replace it for Audio and Video work. Have any of you made the transition and what did you land on? I was looking at a top of line M3 with hopes of some software upgrades from the DAW (LPX) for MPU utilization, but not holding my breath. It seems like overkill for my purposes, but I’m a buy once/cry once type of buyer. Any guidance appreciated. TIA!

With the markers for the tracks? so i have a 10 track album but if i put a marker at the beginning and one at the end that gives me 12 markers which surely would be read on the cd as 12 no?? Can you break it down a bit please with regards to markers. Would it be that the lazer will only read from 2 to 10 then??

I produce music with a macbook air m2 24GB 8/10 core, it flies to the sky, no need to get a macbook pro anymore and the fan is a pain in the ssssss. I am gonna switch for a 15" but it is definitely just for the size of the screen, and I use live ableton. Obsviously the more audio tracks, the higher the buffer size should be but it create latency, it's like 1+1 = 2
