The guard and bumper are steel, and the guard is mounted directly to the chassis mounts, so it’s quite a bit more solid than it looks for blocking directly frontal impacts. Which is important as the oil cooler is about half an inch behind the lower bumper haha. I have an older G55, maintenance is expensive, but largely doable oneself to save money as everything is overbuilt but not overly complex. Couple electrical gremlins, front door is always saying it’s open under hard acceleration, computer thinks tail lights are out when they are not….

Fix the rust ASAP if you drive on snowy roads recommend getting yearly oil sprays to maintain the chassis, also when they salt the roads pressure washing once or twice a month the body and chassis is a good idea...mine is basically rust free but I do the above things mentioned
@crashmeter Жыл бұрын
I had the rust under the rocker panels fixed at a body shop, and I would regularly have the car washed after the roads were salted, but most car wash places focus on the visible panels instead of blasting the underbody. Thanks for the comment and for watching!

The 968 is the same as a 1988 944s, the only difference is the transmission, and looks. If you order suspension parts you'll notice,,, they're the same control arms, rack, struts, spindles etc....
@lebojay Жыл бұрын
The 968 adds Variocam which brings power up from 208 on the 944 S2 to 236 on the 968. The 968 also has forged pistons and conrods and one less balance shaft (thanks to the reduced reciprocating masses).

Absolutely beautiful car. Stunning design that has stood the test of time so well. Air cooled 911 are so stupidly expensive now and way out of reach from normal car enthusiasts. That's why people are finally waking up and finding these other previously underrated models like 928 and 968. I love this car.
@1970borntorun2 жыл бұрын
To be honest, unless you're the typical 911 Snob, the Cayman/Boxter is the best-designed vehicle Porsche ever produced due to the mid-engine design placement, and the 968 is the best all around sports car, I agree. There's a good reason 911's were known as "Widow Makers" back in the '70s... lol

The 968 builds the best and last fourcylindre-Transaxle in the 25 year history of this types from porsche. And the 968 ist rare. And Im happy to have one in the garage. ;)
