Very thoughtful video. Yes, we all need to go forward and not dwell on the past. But Family is something I don't miss. God gave me to the wrong people and I'm abused as they only recall anything and everything that was bad. Starting over in the Philippines is an answer to my prayers and has been a blessing. America can keep it's feminists and narcissist's. They're having a vote for the winner this November 😂😂😂

Sorry you didn't get a better beginning DamnCars. Parents are just broken people, sadly some kids get the very broken ones. My father was very broken and into self medicating through drugs, I had 15 years that was perhaps harder than I thought I could ever endure. But by the grace of God I survived. I believe we all have those broken pieces. Starting over and feeling valued is very healing.

Hello Vern and great that you landed in Ohio to see your mom and family. I was married for 21 years, have been divorced for 8 years now, and have had 2 long distances relationships during that time. One was a Filipina OFW for about 3 years (Covid destroyed our relationship) and a Thai woman for about 2 years (my sister found out she had cheated on me when she moved to Australia to be with her lover). Although I am very much attracted to Asian women (currently seeking now a LDR with a Vietnamese woman), I will hopefully get to know her really well before preparing my flight next year and spend some physical time there during my next vacation. My frame of mind is to enjoy what I can within Vietnam with her and not have my hopes up high like the last 2 times. I also do not plan to ever moving out of the USA so I want to make sure that the woman I meet enjoys traveling while hopefully moving here to my home. To me, my greatest satisfaction is being here to my 3 sons and enjoying family time with them. They enjoy traveling too but are picky. Japan is the only Asian country we all agreed to go together while I would also enjoy traveling to more European countries (been to England and France only). Enjoy your journeys and stay safe!

Thank you for sharing your story Juan Carlos. I don't feel alone when I read how difficult love is to find for so many. The biggest challenge I believe is that both have to want to fight for it just the same to keep it going. If not, then it fades away and often just goes through the motions. Was thinking of that song by the Eagles where they sang- "in the end we hope it was not just wasted time" God bless my friend!

Hey Vern, my Filipina and I live in Ohio. But we'll be living outside of Duma this time next year. Did the flight demand that you wear an insane mask? I didn't think anybody in the States was doing any of this stupidity anymore.
@HeyVernTravels
@HeyVernTravels 12 күн бұрын
Is funny that you asked that, is a good question too. On long flights I used to never wear a mask and became sick 70 percent of the time. In the last 5 years wearing masks on long flights, I became sick zero times. I hate being sick, so you can see why I mask up then. There was no mask rules anywhere. Your good to go.

Yes, very true Vern. As we all grow up in life, we tend to buy many, many things that will suddenly satisfy our needs and desires but later in life we tend to not even care for it nor look at it. All of these materialistic things take much of our room within and outside our homes while we then find ourselves having yard sales each weekend! I have sold several items including just donating lots of stuff to the Vietnam Veterans Association because frankly speaking, I'm running out of room! Just too much crap accumulated! I still have stuff to get rid of and soon will find myself that there are far more important things to see, do, and be a part of. I'm still searching for my future partner in my life but feel this will certainly complete my life. Enjoy your visit to see your mom and safe journeys ahead!

Wise words my friend. I was thinking, if we just consider the items we have that we have not used in at least one year's time... unless it is a tool or memento , why do we keep it? I have six totes from the USA and moist items I have to consider why I have them. Finding love is tough my friend. Take care!

I don't see the hoarders in the Philippines that I witnessed in the US, come to think of it. Usually the hoarders were isolated types from what I remember. I once went to a rummage sale where I walked up the basement floor that was covered 2ft deep with items hoarded. It was really bizarre. Ever experience that before?

Hey from Montenegro! Thanks for these thoughts. I pretty much have a similar opinion about consumerism and materialism. I am fortunate to make much more than I need, and I save around 70-75% of my salary for traveling and investment. I don't buy staff I don't need, even though I am sometimes heavily tempted, just because I can. My wife and I are preparing to embark to yet another 6+ backpacking trip around Latin Ameca, after we completed South East Asia. Enjoy Ohio, and hope to meet you at some point around the world!
