How did you manage to cycle up the bridleway at the beginning? I found it really difficult to cycle all the way. The view from the top is worth seeing. Thanks for any tips in advance.

Yes I heard that the problems in 2023 were dust, heat, hydration and sunstroke. It couldn't have been any more different this year. I hope to enter in 2025 - let's hope I don't jinx it again! How did you fair this year?

I'm loving the videos, reminds me of my Sheffield days. I didn't have a car, so had to ride up from Sheffield and go over Stanage! I usually got a train back though as it was a bit tiring. I am experimenting with a 360 camera on a short mast extending out from my rucksack. My first experiment has the mast at about 50 cms. It has the promise of being a drone-like camera, just have to watch out for trees! How easy is it to add a mini-map and track to the videos?
@MTB_Martin
@MTB_Martin 2 ай бұрын
Cheers - that sounded like a tough commute. I've played with the GoPro Max (which is 360) but the problem with using one on a MTB is the practically of mounting it. I've tried every variation I can think of but every one has shortcomings. In the end a helmet mount on a 4" extension seemed the least problematical but it is heavy on the head, makes you look like a weird Teletubby and shakes like mad on anything technical. If you have the expertise with DaVinci Resolve and a stack of time then you can create a dynamic maps (I fail on both counts lol)

I live about 2 mile from Ogden water and I didn't know any of those tracks and roads . some tracks look ok for 4x4 s which I have but not sure about all those gates if it'll be allowed to go through . ... to old (70) to bike it . ...brilliant film . thanks for sharing .
@MTB_Martin
@MTB_Martin 3 ай бұрын
Thanks though they are bridleways and it would be illegal to take a motor vehicle or motorbike up there. I shudder to think what damage a 4x4 would do to those trail. It would pretty much destroy them. 70s not too old to ride... I know an 84 year old who's riding terrain like that (on an e-bike admittedly)

Excellent riding and awesome footage! Those are slick conditions, at 19:52, I have metal and a lot of screws in my arm falling almost exactly like this, looks like you're unscathed! So much different our areas are, Georgia red clay is like concrete, I ride a 24 year old Klein Attitude Race, I need to get another bike to keep progressing. Your channel is great, and I enjoy seeing the growth of it, keep up your great work!! 🤘🏁🏁🏁

Hi and thanks for your great feedback. It's been wet here for 6 months and the tracks and trails vary from soft, to mush to complete bogs. It should be starting to dry out now it is April but so far it's as wet a it can be. But it's no good complaining - we just go out and enjoy it lol 🙂

@MTB_Martin
@MTB_Martin 4 ай бұрын
I record at 30fps. Rick uses 60fps though to be honest I can't see much difference in the finished video though obviously 60fps uses 2x the storage and a lot more CPU grunt to edit.

@@MTB_Martin You'll get more motion blur at 30fps, which works better for footage like this. At 60fps everything gets smoothed out, and it starts to look a bit uncanny
