What would you recommend as a plant combination beneath a large magnolia tree? I garden in zone 5, NW Illinois
@amsterdamgardencentreАй бұрын
Try using clusters of Brunnera ‘Jack Frost’ (Z3) and floating some Geranium ‘Biokovo’ (Z4) around them. Both of them are long-lived so you won’t have to disturb the Magnolia roots too much.

Hi, my cyclamen suddenly died. There are some green still on it should I take it out of the pot and let it dry out? Is it salvageable please reply thank you.
@amsterdamgardencentreАй бұрын
It may come back. Keep it moist but not too wet. Cyclamen do have a dormancy period of usually 2 to 3 months. They usually start to come out of the dormancy period in late September. We will have a new crop of cyclamen available in the coming week if you choose to just replace it.

Can you turn it into a standard or multi trunk tree form?
@amsterdamgardencentre4 ай бұрын
While Calycanthus is normally multi-stemmed or bush form, with careful selection and pruning it can be trained to a single stem or you can simply prune up lower branches over time (2-3 years) to create a multi-trunk tree.

All rhododendrons are considered toxic, so be careful how you ingest them. Both Azaleas and Rhododendrons are technically Rhododendrons, the only difference being that azaleas have 5 stamens and Rhodos have 10 stamens per flower.
