i am a signal/ctc enthusiest from the toledo area, do you have connections with the railroad? i am looking to get more of this equipment

This equipment is becoming harder to find. It is either owned by collectors or museums, or destroyed when towers are destroyed. You have to search hard on the web to find these panels.

Thanks for this video, nice to see this with very little information online about CP-oak. Is this simulation supposed to be in the Conrail days? Never seen any train after the Conrail breakup use the olive secondary/prr outer yard.

That fact that you have the actual CTC panels is amazing!

Used to often pick up the Toledo Yard Dispatcher on the scanner from nearly 100 miles away back in the 1980's! Miss that era and ol Big Blue! I have the TD3 sim. Fun to run! Thanks!

What I am doing here is running trains through the NYC (now NS) Chicago Line territory that runs through Toledo between Vickers and Broadway interlockings, part of the territory that was controlled using these panels by the Toledo Yard Dispatcher at Central Union Terminal at Toledo, Ohio. What you see me doing is lining switches and clearing signals to effect these train movements. You can barely see the panel lamps lit -- apologies for that. That is why I made the other video showing close-ups of the panels. The simulation is run in Train Dispatcher 3 software, and the interface between TD3 and the panels is handled by C/MRI SMINI hardware wired to the panels (levers and lights) and custom software written using VB6. I received a great head start from Gregg Grabijas in writing this code, and have taken it from there to implement my layout here. I am using this setup to debug the panel and SMINI hardware using the simulation (and also providing a fun platform to play with TD3 on). Next I will write another software package to allow the panels to control my model railroad signaling and switches. I will rely on Dr. Chubb's documentation of C/MRI to get me started on that part of the project.

I am looking at C/MRI, But I don't see the point in what you are doing, But not saying a thing

Thank you for your comment. I will make another video that gives a tour (with narration) of my installation. But you can see part of it in my video kzbin.info/www/bejne/jaqnY3Z4gManoc0 entitled "CMRI CP Oakdale and CP Oak CTC with TD3 Demo."

In the first minute or so, I tried to line the signal before the switch had completed its motion (i.e., while out-of-correspondence). I had to take down the signal and re-line the switch to get the desired route. My bad!

Four out of five panels are complete with C/MRI SMINI cards and software. Fifth card is being built now and will support Broadway (BY) panel.

Thanks, Bill! I had to think about this a lot, but I finally did get it going. Now on to the other panels!
