One thing I would suggest is that the model might have faces issues which when repaired 3d Builder will remove them leaving an empty space, I would also check out blender for additional repair steps.
@bigfilsing5 ай бұрын
I have yet to repair a model where 3D builder deleted faces leaving the mesh non manifold . Of course this was made 2 years ago so maybe new versions of 3D builder may cause issues. Personally i use blender to repair / edit models. This video was for people who don't use/ have 3Dmax-Rhino- Blender to check models theyve downloaded from places like thingyverse etc

Hi Stephen, Thanks for the comment and apologies for the late reply. While i understand your desire for an audio track, the 2 main reasons i don't do one is not all viewers are native English speakers and if you pause ( or slow mo) the vid to review a particular section you loose audio whereas the text remains "on screen" Cheers

Great James Thanks Nice to know theres still critical people in the world. Of course you could chose to ignore my video and move on But that would take thought eh ! I purposely write text for a couple of reasons . 1/ When people pause to study a particular feature the text remains , audio doesnt and 2/ not everybody has English as their first language so audio is only applicable to the chosen few You must be so proud. It also minimizes waffle . Which you may want to try pal. Again thanks for commenting but next time don't bother ..Cheers

this was really informative i have been looking for a boat hull tutorial for a long time in fusion. i have been trying to design a boat off a line drawing for a year now in fusion360. had some success and even 3d printed some test hulls but was always having issues getting the hull just right or having the lofts so complicated fusion was crashing when i try to alter them. you used some things i dident know fusion was capable of which will make my designs better, ill have to try them when i try to redesign the hull for the 5th time.
@bigfilsing4 жыл бұрын
glad you enjoyed it . 3D sketching has recently been included in Fusion so that helps. Previously you could still move spline nodes in 3D but it was a bit hit and miss result wise.You still need to be careful and depending on what snap setting you have it can still be troublesome. I have done very little face modeling in fusion and coming from Inventor its slightly more intuitive to use . A great video on face modeling in Inventor is still this kzbin.info/www/bejne/iXzXnYGFncSIqcU The work flow is identical. Inventor and Fusion both being Autodesk, the tools are almost identical

Any chance you could share the F360 project? I like making RC boats, and it would be fun to make an RC Renko! Of course, *now* I see you have a grabcad link. I now have a new quarrantine project.
@bigfilsing4 жыл бұрын
The grab cad Renko model for download is a generic step file and should suit your needs. The F360 model is a bit messy as is often the case with this kind of model made from reference images. It would take quite a bit of "clean up" to be useful but id be willing to share if you thought that useful . Id really like to see your RC version when done. Cheers

@@TheNeverendingProjectsList Hi I am working on a 3D printable version today. I am reluctant to share the F360 files as they are big and complicated . Over 200 sketches and 1460 dimensions and i wouldn't be doing anybody any favours by sharing them. Certainly not if you want to scale the model. Example : i have scaled the model down and quite a few lofts and sweeps fail when scaled so they all have to be redone which is extremely time consuming. Ill start a THINGYverse page later today and post the STLs and a STEP file of each component as i go. Ill be sure to let you know the thingy verse page when its up

I was just musing last night that I was unclear as to the relatioship of the compartments belowdeck to the topside features; reflecting on Stu's recently confessed conclusion that Renko is just too small to have proper live-aboard facilites...having myself had many daydreams about RVs, British narrowboats and air camping. Also a fan of Martin of Wintergatan's Marble Machine X project, which is Fusion 360 as a way of life.

@MargaretLeber4 жыл бұрын
@@bigfilsing Air camping is camping out at a (possibly remote) airfield/airstrip reached in a small arirplane, with what gear you can carry on-board. I'd say that AirVenture at KOSH would be a huge example, but when you get there so much in the way of facilities are in place that it sort of doesn't count. www.eaa.org/airventure/plan-your-eaa-airventure-trip/eaa-camping-and-lodging
