Ark PB is currently a bad FCS team. But there has been pressure for years for Arkansas to play these tuneup games against in-state teams. We had a policy for 80+ years (maybe forever? IDK) not to play the in-state schools. But everyone wanted to 'keep the money in the state' and so the AD finally relented and we paid them 1/3 of their football budget for the year for this one game and gave up a lot of revenue to play it in Little Rock instead of our (much larger and more profitable) home stadium. Backups, and 3rd string, and walk-ons, came in at the half. We shortened the game to 10 minute quarters in the 2nd half. Kinda hard to tell the backup QBs to hand off for 20 minutes. They need reps too. Several other P4 schools dropped ridiculous numbers on their opening game opponents too (I think Tennessee scored more than 70, even). That all said, 10 of 10 TDs is with a shutout is hard to do against anyone. I read somewhere that this is the first time in 20 years it has happened in all of CFB. For a team that was 4-8 last year and looked terrible in the 2023 opener, I will take it.
