That mod will also shrink the air intake ports a bit since those tubes takes alot room there in the main air port tube.

1998 - 2003 ZX-9Rs have but one float bowl equalization snorkel tube leading through a separate hole in the bike's frame. The concept for them was to equalize the RAM air pressures in the float bowls to that of the airbox, measured at the forward-most position of the air intake. Therefore, if you streetfighter a ZX-9R by removing its fairings and instead feeding airbox air from the frame air ducts, the float bowl snorkel tube length would only need to be shortened to the same forward position as the two ducts, with an air filter in the snorkel tube to prevent bugs and debris from entering the float bowls. No aibox drilling necessary.

My 95 has the sound sound of exhaust single straight pipe with the factory x pipe and it’s not raspy like most v6 but I am considering putting a cam in it when I do a tear down any recommendations for doing a cam as in am I able to do a mild cam without changing anything else ?

The stock cam duration really surprised me on this engine, the valve opening and closing times are not even making full use of the stroke.

Where's the noticeable Lope all of the cam sounds pretty close to stock to me. it just isn't yours it's everybody's I know the old school V8 if you put one of those 480 cams in it you'll definitely hear the chop of the cam

I know this is an old post but for others looking for the same answer... V6 engines run best with 112-115 lobe separation. If you go lower to around 108-110 lobe separation to get the lope you lose vacuum to keep the engine and accessories working right. They can bog down and stall, breaks can not work properly etc.

Talk to a couple guys about this at track days and heard some horror stories well came to the conclusion if it wasn't made like that from the factory probably shouldn't be done . Maybe a quick fix but in the long run go fuck your shit up. Just my 2 cents .

lol Race bikes aren't street bikes. So why are you comparing people at track days, to people that ride every day? I agree with your statement, but race bikes are not comparable in any fashion.

Myself and others at track ride every day we can no different then anyone else who rides. . There's no difference from my daily R6 street bike to my track only R6 other than tires and spockets and zip ties lol . All I was stating I have asked about this to people who have done this before to their bike doesn't matter for the street or track it does cause future problems I would think you would need to remap your bike comp to adjust to the changes to avoid small things that could be problematic that overtime can lead to bigger things . . And that's all folks .

did that mod worked perfect for a few miles now after 3-4000 rpm it will loose its power and wont perform atall what can i look for to stop this thanks in advance

Probably a bit late with a reply, but my zx6 had this mod and I had to get a y junction, join the two ram airs coming out of the carb and take it out the front of the bike with one tube. The two banks of carbies need the same air pressure or you get surging
