As Salaam Alaikum One way(mostly similar to your solution) to distinguish waswasa from your own thoughts is by understanding the concepts of haram and halal. If someone learns to distinguish between what is permissible and what is forbidden, they can resolve the confusion about whether a thought is a whispering from Shaitan. Shaitan always wants you to engage in haram actions because he will not provide you with any good information or halal ways. What he whispers into our minds, like waswasa, is always illegal and tries to lead you into haram actions. Having knowledge of what is halal and haram allows you to combat waswasa 99% of the time. And Allah knows best. (By the way, this solution randomly came to my mind, Alhamdulillah.)

Salam brother. I’m a born Muslim who became agnostic for decades but recently reverted this last Ramadhan. I see you have a rich library with you. Could you recommend some books for a revert to study Islam? There’s plenty of material and it’s hard to decide where to start.
@YoussefWaly112 күн бұрын
Absolutely. Definitely start with getting a translation of your Quran in your language. If you want an English one I recommend “The Clear Quran” or The Quran translation by M.A.S Abdul Haleem. After this I highly recommend a book of hadeeth and that would be Riyad-us-Saliheen by Imam An-Nawawi. All hadeeth in it are carefully picked hadeeth to help you in every aspect of your life. Start with those.

one question I have is if Allah's mercy is infinite, why couldnt he just put all of us in Jannah from the start and give us infinite pleasures? Whats the point of creating evil? I am not asking this to debate or argue with you, I am a Muslim who loves Allah but I am genuinely confused and questioning this point.
@YoussefWaly112 күн бұрын
I recommend asking someone more knowledgeable, but to give you my answer... Allah is able to achieve the same outcome in infinitely many ways; for instance, Allah technically could've made Jesus the final messenger, but he didn't, or Allah could've made us all like the angels with no free will of moral choice. However, Allah does what He wants, and in the Quran it states exactly that, that Allah does what He wants. Also when Allah says that he has chosen prophets He uses the word "istafa" in the Quran, and in Arabic refers to a type of choice where He does not owe you an explanation. The same way we make some decisions in life and someone questions us... "why this why not that" and we reply with "that's just how i like it." The best thing in the end is that Allah has treated all of us fairly, more than we deserve, and has created this system where He doesn't give everyone "A+" in their exam when some people have worked much harder than others. That is my insight.
@vytn_02 күн бұрын
I think you are confused. The mercy of Allah is never-ending because Allah doesn’t end. But know that mercy on creation is based on Willingness. Meaning, he can choose to or choose not to have mercy. But the attribute of mercy remains, because it is to essence of Allah and Allah does not end And best to cease going further, we aren’t created for that. We worship him and worry about our world and hereafter.

What do you mean the drop to level of shaytan when sin, shaytan is kaffir, you dont go that low by sinning.
@YoussefWaly113 күн бұрын
I have taken that statement from lectures by Sheikhs like Sheikh Belal Asaad. That is not what is meant by it, what it means is that for the Shaitan to affect your actions it also involves you making a choice to make that sin or do actions which lead up to that sin, so in that sense you have dropped to a level of the shaitan where he can affect you.
@Salmanalbinjabi3 күн бұрын
@@YoussefWaly11 I understand better now, yes to level where he is affecting you, but definitely not his level meaning as is in like him or equally as low and degraded as shaytan

Question one needs to ask themselves is Why do you do this to yourself. Why even give shaytan a chance to even whisper to you? Day and night think of ayatul kursi and the small surahs as a normal habit when you wake up do you even think about brushing? no you just do it. This the same but on a spiritual level. Very easy thing to do. Once shaytan is blocked you still got the whispers of your nafs which is a little easier to stop because it is going off your previous habits remind yourself to say Allahu akbar. Allah is the greatest.

Brother , what about ( Haram ) addictions does shaytan have a role in that? I’ve been trying to leave an addiction but sometimes it’s overwhelming my brain goes into overdrive + waswasa. I really do feel weak sometimes
@YoussefWaly114 күн бұрын
Jazakallah for the question. This is a topic I've been searching about A LOT, and I have a whole new video which will come dedicated to leaving and sacrificing things for the sake of Allah inshallah (primarily addiction). Inshallah it will help (and yes Shaitan has a role in that definitely).
@abdia-lb2yx4 күн бұрын
In order to identify whether whispers are coming from your nafs or from shaytan. Think of the problems you face very deeply and how you got into it then read the text down below there is your answer. Whenever you get these thoughts remind yourself to ask which one of them is it? This separates you from it consciously you are not some idiot that take action you become a third person viewing it from a distance. Whatever sin you do if you were never interested in it but you find yourself doing it; it is because shaytan worked hard to get you there you listened to his whispers. If you spend a lot of time in this sin and you like it is your soul whispering to you now. If you don't block shaytan he gets to your mind first if you listen to him and then your heart. He has no access to the heart only the mind to whoever will listen to him and lets him talk. If Allah gave him access to the heart he would be commanding people. If there is a sin that shaytan never got you interested in and you find yourself doing it; it is because your soul wants this shaytan just encourages it. Example lusting after the opposite gender in a non halal relations your soul already wants this you are attracted to the opposite gender now you gotta fight two whispers. Read ayatul kursi, surah ikhlas, Surah nas and then read the dua below call on to Allah. Why even give him a chance to even talk to you read this make it a habit as if you just woke up and ready to brush its not even a thought its a habit. Dua below is very important say it everyday to be protected. Ya arhama rahimin; birah matika astaghith aslih lii sha'ni kulah; wala takilni ila nafsi darfata ayn. Anas ibn Malik reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said to Fatimah, “I instruct you to say in the morning and evening: O Living, O Sustainer, by Your mercy I seek deliverance. Take care of all my affairs and do not leave me to the care of myself even for the blink of an eye.”

The Block Universe theory in science proves Destiny: Imagine the whole Universe being a block. This block contains Space, and Time. Together this is called "SpaceTime." The Past, Present and Future are all existing at once in this block. Someone outside of SpaceTime can see all the Past, Present and Future in one go. That is Allah/God.

Virtue of praying in the mosque of Quba: There are hadiths from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) which speak of the virtue of praying in the mosque of Quba: Al-Bukhari (1193) and Muslim (1399) narrated that Ibn ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to go to the mosque of Quba every Saturday, walking or riding. According to a report narrated by Muslim, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to go to the mosque of Quba walking or riding, and he would pray two rak’ahs there. Al-Tirmidhi (324) narrated from Usayd ibn Zuhayr al-Ansari, who was one of the Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Prayer in the mosque of Quba is like ‘Umrah.” (Classed as sahih by al-Albani in Sahih al-Tirmidhi) Al-Nasai (699) narrated that Sahl ibn Hunayf said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever goes out to this mosque, the mosque of Quba, and prays therein, will have (a reward) like that of ‘umrah.” (Classed as sahih by al-Albani in Sahih al-Nasai)
