That has to be one of the smoothest running TX2’s I’ve ever seen. The replacement belt has got me wondering if Tomra still makes spare parts for TX2 series machines. It’s also a great example of how proper cleaning and maintenance is key to keeping any machine in good working order.
@stockholm23756 күн бұрын
Very smooth indeed. This one in particular is a very low-use example, it's basically factory fresh still. This series has been obsolete for a long time so I think service entails new old stock parts or salvaged parts from retired machines.

Some newer iterations had them, usually the motors were quite loud and the roller color was indicative of said loud motors.

If you waited a few days until the new year (2024) you would have gotten $6.70 with the refund going to 10 cents a bottle/can in conn. Can you do a video showing the new 10 cent label on bottle and cans with the conn 10 cent refund on it?
@stockholm23752 ай бұрын
This footage is pretty old. At the time I was getting ready to move back to NY, otherwise I probably would've waited. There's not much to the label changes, they now say CTRV and more recently CT 10c. I suppose maybe I could do a video on what is covered, as some items are a bit of a grey area...

In California we have Olyns Cube which you have to slowly feed 1 at a time. It took 8 minutes to load 38 bottles. Then it kicked me off with a 5min cooldown to let other people deposit theirs. I still had a full bag of cans left and had to get back in line.

First one of these I’ve ever seen a video of! Came across one of these many years ago at some liquor store a few hours away from my city. Also important to note that RVMs are very rare where I’m from. It was installed outside (through the wall), had a coloured cover, and very strangely, the new TOMRA logo on the lower cover (I assume it was refurbished to some degree). This was one of 2 locations I’ve seen Tx2s in real life, RIP to the machines in my local Safeway, also with coloured covers, that were ripped out when the store changed to a different banner. Now all I’ve got are T9s at a local redemption centre, which while are very fast, don’t have the same charm nor do they crush the containers or anything interesting.
@stockholm23757 ай бұрын
For a period of time, replacement decals for Tx2s had a newer logo. That at least implies they cared enough to have the machine serviced regularly at that liquor store...
@108CAM7 ай бұрын
What a find! That would have to be one of the rarest Tx2 machines around, especially being a Trisort Tx2. Would love to see the variant with the old coloured covers and blue housing but those are probably near extinction.
@stockholm23757 ай бұрын
The only thing more rare is a T-22 plastic/glass combi, I've only seen one ever and it was through an image. I have seen a coloured Trisort once, but I am unsure if it's still around and the location is pretty far from where I am currently.

They now have them at CVS, Walgreens, Dollar General and other small stores down there too??? Not just the grocery stores or the big box stores I know the bill was expanded and the fee was boosted as of earlier this year from 5-10 cents but I didn't think these small places would now have redemption centers at all. WOW. What a change.
@stockholm237511 ай бұрын
From what I heard and understood stores of a certain size are required to have 2 machines now. Aldi stores now have 2 machines instead of just 1. Trader Joe's has machines now too. It is quite the change, I'm still getting used to it.

@@stockholm2375 Okay! Thanks for the info! :) I wonder why Tomra ditched their double doors. I was about 5 years old when I remember using one of those the last time, and I allways found those scary. Have you ever used one of those, and in that case, how did the doors differ from the Envipco?
@stockholm237511 ай бұрын
@@antonnilsson6117 I've used one, but it was well over a decade ago and my memory is hazy. It felt a lot more solid and sturdy compared to Envipco's machines. I was told they had issues with smaller soda bottles getting caught between the rollers and doors, and they were certainly not meant for thin water bottles.
