Love how Karen has matured in her reading quality with age and has made Annes voice older as she has aged throughout the series. Beautifully read, and she doesn't rush her reading like she used to. A very competent narrator now. ❤❤❤

This is a gorgeous book in the Anne series. Beautifully written, the descriptive views of Anne's dreams and recollections are stunning. Can't wait for the next book. ❤❤❤

Karen Savage you’re by far the best reader. Love your voice for Susan my favorite character in the Anne series.

@@Ninalindercrochets-1974 Yes, they are funny. Sometimes I feel like those three characters are carrying the narrative where it gets a bit tedious. They are definitely more interesting than Anne's and Gilbert's story.

I agree definitely more interesting

Initially I did not warm to this book, but on reading it in snatches before re-reading it in its from cover I came to find it both humorous and moving, with a subtle wit and then I came to measure the Heroine,, and she is a giant, and rivals Anne Shirley of Anne and Green Gable not only for integrity but courage. What is it about these girls? It is not that they are heroines of perfect orthodoxy, but that they depict girls of that age that I remember teaching, when their feminine qualities of resilience, and ethical stamina are not disrupted by female sex hormones. If you want to measure the calibre of women teach them before they become interesting to men who subvert them by their own glib desires. They astound you, and as this story unfolded and I adjusted to the narrative style Katy emerges, and she reminds me of some of the heroines I taught, I learned to understand that lurking behind their public presentation they were trying to escape from the conventions of an adult world that had been tried and found wanting, that they were not adult conventions, but male conventions, conventions that originated in biblical and mythical slander and libel. I came to learn through Katy, and recall through this narrative what distinguishes girls from boys, it is an indominable insight and clarity. They weigh you up and they have instinct for the genuine and the authentic and if that is not corrupted by being exposed to masculine society, they remain above the fray of patriarchy and masculine orthodoxy and they estimate you up with ruthless clarity before they give their trust and affection. Katy Carr is a heroine, she is one of an ineffable quintet of 'Girls' of almost mythical dimensions and their adventures are much more credible and exciting than the crafty Ulysses or that tedious Aeneas driven on by this passion to be some one. There is only one character in the Odyssey who interests me and that is Nausicaa, there is only one feminine character in the Bible who is in the least interesting, her own woman and she leaps out of the shadow of piety and that is Ruth, And Katy Carr and Anne Shirley, and Mary Lennox, and Jo March, and Bobbie Waterbury are of that mould, they enlist your admiration, then your respect and then your affection. It is no mean achievement of narrative to do that. My father, who I mention often, because he said interesting things, said that most of the great books which adults should read are relegated to the Nursery because the heroines make adults uncomfortable of how far short they fall from the ethical integrity of childhood bought to life so vividly. When I tire of the nonsense of politics I turn to Katy and Anne,

Just a thought…why work so hard for a university degree just to be a housewife and mother, even a great housewife and mother? What good did it do Anne? Can anyone tell me that?

This is so good! Perfect for university students. It probaby hasn't received a ton of attention because the story itself is not widely needed. But still, great voice skills!

Yes it is , I've listened to all her reading of the series. Karen Salvage is older now, and has matured in voice and reading quality. She used to read fast. But it's definitely Karen. 😊

I've been an avid reader my whole life. My mother made sure I read all the classics, but I've never read a single book in this series. I love it, Karen Savage can make characters come to life so well. She susses out their inner personality and recreates them in such a lovely and vibrant manner. I live this story.❤

When SHE woke up that day it was HER subconscious that first started to dream of HIM. SHE burns for HIM, HER soul glows peacefully mostly because SHE knows HE burns for HER too and in ways that HE never had for another. For the short term HER days will be long but SHE is no stranger to this battle. It has rocked HER though these last years but it is SHE that has rocked the hardest. SHE had woken HER inner strength up at its core, HER little monster and Fiercely THEY battled. SHE grew and learned so much and through it all remained grateful trying to always stay humble and kind. Smiles still covered HER face. SHE has revealed a higher level of confidence than she ever thought possible and yet battles the realization that HER confidence in some other sorts is lower than SHE ever thought possible. How could the too coexist???? SHE is tired HER body is tired and yet it rages to go like the wildest of kitties. So here SHE is awake and it’s almost Christmas. The thought crosses HER mind again that for the short term HER days will be long. But then comes HIM. The day will be soon when SHE calls HIM. HE will pick up the phone and once again Instantaneously THIER hearts will melt into EACH OTHER’S. HE became HER devotion to HER battle. SHE became the true peace of HIS past scares. Scares that maybe SHE hadn’t yet learned about. And that’s what is beautiful about THEM. HE was and is and will always be HER protector. SHE will always radiate the glowing light that guides THEIR journey. THEY will always walk hand in hand into THEIR BEYOND FOREVER.

These books are so valuable. I ❤ the whole series. I live in Waco & was quite surprised that someone from here was narrating. Karen Savage does an EXCELLENT job. As another commented. It just doesn't sound right if it's not her. Thank you so much for spending all the time & effort this took. She may not have the same last name seeing that these were begun a few years back now. Thank you very much!❤😊
