I'd say SB2 > SBO > SB3 SB2 is just a better SBO in almost every way, its still honest to the original, it has better mechanics, far better animations and map design, time hasn't been as cruel to SB2 as it has been to SBO. But yeah SB3 is just hot garbage which the developers have FINALLY abandoned and moved onto a dungeon game or something.

I'm aware of how easy the game is, its ALWAYS been easy, just now I've seen its gotten significantly worse. And the devs NEVER* listen. They didn't listen to me while I was a tester, they didn't listen to any of the other testers, and then got rid of all of us after we wouldn't stop saying the game sucks, and then a few of us proceeded to get banned from the server (me included) for continuing to say the game is bad. Theres reasons the game sucks, dev incompetence and silencing criticism. The devs don't know what they're doing, they don't know or understand their audience, they don't care for what makes a game enjoyable, they only care for what makes it profitable. And then Namichu, the discord servers "angel" is just a manipulative mod abuser who puts on a happy face. Shes been banning a lot of people for simply criticizing the game, and since the servers moderation is SO BAD since they let her have near complete control, getting unbanned is near impossible. Anyway, gonna be recording a video tonight. Might be up within a few days, dunno.

given how outdated this video is, the games only gotten worse SOMEHOW (its almost like its because they ban anyone who criticizes the game from their discord) and I still would highly recommend you avoid playing this game. Glad you didn't.

I can confirm to you that the developers they hired for swordburst 3 aren't ONLY nobodies who worked on simulator-like games prior (mainly WZ), but they were also underpaid! And, they let the people with no idea how to make a game and who have no idea what swordburst even is design swordburst 3, or at a minimum decide its visual style which is why its so bad compared to the last games. And on the topic of toxic positivity, may I mention Namichu, the discord servers "lead moderator" She isn't ONLY overly positive about every horrible update, but she also BANS ANYONE who says the game is bad, and since the servers moderation sucks THAT BAD its impossible for anyone to appeal, and even if you have contact with other mods or admins, none of them do their job and on the insanely rare case they do, it takes MONTHS to appeal a ban thats entire reason is just "I didn't like you" Source? I've been banned from the server TWICE and muted once for criticism, I got unbanned ONC, and am trying to get unbanned again, however since the moderation is so incompetent, its going nowhere. On the rare chance ANYONE sees this and is still in the server for whatever reason, just constantly bring this up in general. Say whatever you want and watch them silence you for calling out how bad they are. However, since I do need to say this, don't harass anyone. Just mention the false server bans.

No, no I'm not. I'm a game developer and designer who knows what makes a game bad, and given a lot of things in this video are nitpicks, there's still a lot of valid points. Also, I'm the kind of guy to be happy to get a car at all, don't care if its the one I wanted. If it has 4 wheels and drives I'm happy. And this isn't a case like a car, this is a game that people were excited for, myself included. Coming off the last game which we all enjoyed, we wanted something actually good, something that actually innovated on what the last one did. But we got our feedback ignored and left with a game we all hated, left with a game that went backwards literally everywhere it could. Visuals? They're bad, especially compared to SB2 and even SBO in some cases. Gameplay? Its awful and insanely boring. PVP? Was horrible. Literally everything about the game was and mostly still is bad, you CAN play it but the thing is, we wanted to actually enjoy playing it. We couldn't, we aren't returning, and now the games dead and still dying. There's a VERY small amount of people who enjoy the game, good for them, doesn't stop the point that most of the people who bought alpha and beta (and as such, even more people than the game has ever gotten since) dislike the game and aren't coming back. 30-60 THOUSAND people completely ignored. If SB3 was good, it'd still have 5k players DAILY, but its instead struggling to get 700 during PEAK HOURS. You can say "well you're just a hater!!" but that does not stop the fact that I'm just a vocal person, there's many, and I mean MANY other people with the same sentiment as me, they're just silent about it.

Stupidly I agree in SOME aspects, sb3s maps are definitely better than SBOs, but worse than SB2s, BUT some weapon designs are better on SBO than they are on SB3, Divine Inferno for example. On both SBO and SB2, they're the same shape and resemble an actual sword, SB3 doesn't resemble the previous ones at all but it moreso resembles a really bad looking static fire than a sword.

Im going to be completely honest I think it was a whole different dev team for sb3 than sb2 because sb2 is still getting updates not many but still is and if that's the case why would the dev team keep updating the old game if a new one is out.

swordburst 2 has had an entirely different team since floor 9 I believe, even then most of sb3s team is from W//Z, the only TWO from sb2 are alex and kensai, which money has corrupted them both

Since you've made such a point on fishing, go try Fisch! Its a really well made fishing game thats of course on roblox. And good decision on dropping the game, I haven't played it since before this video released but from what I've seen and heard, the new updates are terrible and as you said, most of my points still stand perfectly.

cheating is good, finding glitches or bugs is bad. the devolipers is just abote the money from pay to win and gambeling.

you say that like its surprising. They booted all the good testers (including me) out of the team because we said the game was bad and told them how to fix it, which involved changing the dual wield gamepass.

The reason I put 1 point for each NPC instead of 1 for all was because they had the chance to improve them but didn't, instead they just copy-pasted NPCs from previous areas. I very much could have given 1 point per floor for the NPCs (For the same reason above) but I was going for the highest number, so I went with 1 point per NPC. And about the quests, every single one sucks and is awful to do, again I could have done 1 point for quests but again, they could have just removed them or done something different yet they didn't. tl;dr, I only counted every thing multiple times because the devs did have the chance to improve and didn't, and I wanted a high number.

I've heard mixed things about Deepwoken, I haven't played it myself, but I have heard its well made and has fun gameplay, but playing it is the most boring thing. And theres another SAO-Based RPG in development right now called "Blade Art Online" which I am looking forward to playing. Other than that, right now Arcane Odyssey is the only decent game I think? Last I played it, it was the most unbalanced garbage ever but its been a few months.

sb2 by itself aint a good game (at least now, back in 2017/2018 it was okay if not good) but when put against this garbage its just so good

I'd say SB2 compared to SBO is a massive upgrade (visually and mechanically) and SB3 is a downgrade of BOTH. SBO is good for memories, but grinding on it was terrible, the UI was poorly made and combat was extremely jank. SB2 is still a pretty solid game, a little dated sure, but still good. Animations, UI, models and map design all hold up. And then theres SB3. Downgraded models over SB2 (and in some cases even SBO), worse map design than both games, a whole lot less charm to it, as well as several mechanics just straight up being worse than both previous games. Insane how the want for more money can corrupt people as much to make a game this abysmal.

yes bro the social aspect of these games is definitely overlooked, sbo was so much fun. It genuinely felt like I was playing sword art online, randomly meeting and interacting with so many other players. Ive played the first few floors of sb3 and I dont think ive ever talked to anyone, its very soulless.

What they should do is just hand SB3 over to new devs that actually care and are bothered revamping it from the ground up, but knowing kensai as well as I do (and as such, alex) they are not ever gonna do that, they're too egotistical.

honestly I've just decided to remake the UI and not really make a full game, for 2 reasons. 1, as you listed, copyright. Dont wanna deal with that. 2, creating certain systems would be insanely challenging, especially for 1 person.

Let me see whats fixed myself.. oh wait like maybe 2 things and a bunch of massive downgrades? Like seriously, what laughing stock you are. All I can think of right now that got fixed was the progression being at wolves for half the game, other than that all I see are downgrades. Void Tower? No matter the amount of revamps its still insanely boring with terrible rewards. Guild Seasons? Glorified Void Tower with probably worse rewards. Fishing? Absolutely pointless. Portals? Still pointless. Level locking? Still there and even more annoying than ever with all the new level walls. Map design? Still awful. NPCs? Slightly better, still bad though. Visuals? Still bad and full of a BUNCH of reskins. Start of the game? Terrible! Worse than before because now it is incentivized to grind on lower floors! Barely anything has improved and almost every new feature has been disappointment after disappointment, hell if you were a tester like I WAS you'd hate the devs more than I do. (to sum it up they're egotistical, terrible devs who have almost no clue what they're doing, mainly kensai)

Also, FYI I am both a Game Designer and Game Developer. I do know what I'm talking about, I know what makes a good and bad game. I'm not trying to say that you can't enjoy a game, I'm just pointing out what makes the game bad. You can enjoy bad games all you want, I don't really care much at all, good for you. Also, who would have thought that the 4 month old video talking about the bad game that updates weekly would be slightly outdated with very little out-of-date information that is no longer valid (if any at all) :o
