I would be careful with zener diodes in parallel. Because of temperature and process variation they have slightly different breakdown voltages. So put a few Ohm series resistor with each diode, to ensure they both work together and share part of the current. Other wise, one would turn on and burn before the other even turn on.

The LED needs a current limit resistor, otherwise you will destroy the LED and/or the BC547.

You don't need a transistor to make a continuity tester. Just use a LED and a resistor for the visual indicator. Add the buzzer if you want sound.

OLD Projects.....done a million times before P2 has major limitations. The transistor will easily be damaged since it can handle little current and power.

@@electricalelectronic12 Tack soldering is for TEMPORARY connections. You might tack solder a component in a circuit to see the effect. If it does not help it is easy to remove. If it does help then solder it properly. Same for a prototype - see if it works. Why it sucks for a permament circuit - lack of a mechanical bond - - it is a fragile connection - greater risk of a cold solder joint - less of an electrical bond which is a concern in high current circuits - the same holds true when using a perfboard or PCB - it is a crap way to solder on a PCB or perfboard or such If you want to see proper soldering look at channels like DroneBot Julian Spiess aka the Swiss Guy Great Scott DIY Perks
