Does this still work if mixed the yeast with the sugar in the juice?

I use 10%/11%/15% juices all the time for this, and they turn out great! Very strong alcohol flavor after tons of bubbles. The trick is to add more yeast. You know the preservatives and whatever are going to give the yeast a hard time, but when you put 5 grams of yeast instead of 2-3 grams, they take over the fermentation process beautifully. Be careful, you may get too much fermentation and end up with an over spill.

Do you have to add all that sugar? Would the yeast do it's thing with the natural sugar in the juice?

I remember when I was little my grandma told me if you let apple cider sit in the fridge long enough unopened it would ferment and become alcohol. You know how hard it was as a kid to not drink that cider. A month later that jug was puffy and I excitedly showed it to my grandma as a surprise and we both had a glass. Needless to say we both got a buzz, I was 9. Man I miss her.

I was thinking that I'd seen your eggnog video over a year ago. The longer term stability is the best feature of the premix, not that a bottle lasts around this house in the holiday season.

Turbo yeast is garbage. Anyone with experience knows this. Yes it will ferment fast but also produces undesirable esters and sulfuric compounds that have bad taste. Also there are yeasts specific for making agave spirits/tequila. Anything else used and you may as well call it moonshine because it won't taste of traditional tequila.

I did this with apple juice in the 90s when I had one year sober. Drank a little and it tasted terrible so I pitched the rest and then went to a liquor store and bought some Heineken and a bottle of wine. That was the last booze I’ve ever drunk to this day, 29 years later. Enjoyed watching the video but I’m not going to try this again;-)

I’m not sure what those products are and I’m not sure what you mean for primary and secondary. I’m so lost
@PlattR10 күн бұрын
Primary is for primary fermentation. This is the first week or two of the process. Secondary fermentation is when you transfer the liquid into another container while leaving the dead yeast in the first one. This last about a month or so.
