I can't believe you didn't check all this before you bought it.
@D3Sshooter12 минут бұрын
When you buy a car, the check does not always give you the full picture. You get an idea of the car, a test ride does not last an hour under heavy load etc.... and of course you negociate on the price, listing the issues you spotted.. As long as you know what the issues could be and what they cost to fix... Note that the car also had a CT done.

It takes a very special kind of mechanic to sort all these things. Most older cars and modified cars have many things wrong with them.

Very well done video. But, I'm curious as to why you wouldn't check the play in the diff first so you wouldn't have to remove and reassemble it all up on the bench? If no play there then you could move on to check the half shafts or am I missing something? Thanks!

Cars are actually made with 0.5-0.6mm steel, and I'd say it's fine for backing composite panels. Also, epoxy isn't strong on its own. It only holds two layers together. The thinner the epoxy the better.

What's the reasoning behind not allowing a full roll cage for street use? Anything to make the car safer can't be wrong.

silly legislation, as they believe that access and egress of the car is more difficult...

I used to race against an MGC with a 4.4L Leyland P76 engine. All the good gear plus a Ford Falcon GT 9-inch diff with discs. The difference I've found between split urethane bushes and normal bushes is the urethane bushes rotate on the steel bushes instead of deflecting and wear out a lot faster. They might still look good on the outside, but the ID is worn.

Another great video! So had you gone with a Weber, would you have used a IDA or a DCOE? Decades ago, at a race track in SoCal, it seems like I saw a bunch of Minis fitted with 40 DCOEs.
@D3Sshooter3 күн бұрын
I was planning a DCOE 40. in fact its on the self... But it needed a cut-out

Lovely mini! I've never seen that way of spacing the (front) wheels out, it would seem weaker than either bolt on spacers or a spacer and longer wheel studs. Is there a reason you chose this method? (Even these methods are illegal here, due to the strength lost). Longer wheel studs would be readily available as they are used for the spacer drums. Ideally a negative offset wheel would be the best solution.
@D3Sshooter3 күн бұрын
You have a good point, although the wheel flens is flush with the surface. it makes a larger lever and yes that causes more forces.. Its what I had on the shelf... Also here it would not pass the CT... but there are tricks for it....

You love anything that's yellow and black :) Seriously mate.. where do you get all your time from? Do you have someone(s) behind the scenes to help with production, mechanics etc? Your output is impressive.

Well I am color blind, so there are certain colors I see as nicer then others... hence the black-yellow - blue preference. I am a one man job, a day has 24 Hr's... I work 8 hours (( full time job), 8 hours on cars, house renovation and racing, 2 hr on post processing... 6Hr's to sleep. 6days by 7. That does work out just fine. Thanks for the comments

When burning, start a width at the bottom and work your way up. The rising heat preheats the wall and roots and they will combust quicker and more thoroughly.

How is the balance of the car with that big v8 in front?
@badgermtn5 күн бұрын
Very nice! Brings back memories...I owned a 1973 MGB for 18 years as my daily driver. The only modifications I did to it was putting on a Weber DGV 32/36, headers, tube shock conversion, and electronic ignition. Often thought about doing a V8 engine swap...I think the typical engine would have been a Buick aluminum 218 c.i. or something like that. Its been almost 30 years gone now.
