Well, I think a new owner will want to service the winch and probably replace the chain, probably need a very close inspection of the motor and especially the sail drive, look what you can get for 350 k,

We have Catana 411 hull #1. I’m curious how ventilation is without topside deck hatches in the cabins.
@grenadacatamarans2 жыл бұрын
As with most things there are “pro” and “con” arguments for side vs deck hatches, these medium size opening side hatches do a decent job of ventilation, and while not as effective as deck hatches I have seen people fit scoops to further increase airflow into the boat . The other pros are it reduces the obstacles on deck, as well as the chance of the dreaded deck hatch leak, and when you get caught in a downpour having left your hatches open having side hatches means your bed won’t get wet, For security the narrower side hatches are an obvious winner. Yes you lose some natural light but adding extra lighting if needed would fix this. Deck hatches do generally feed the breeze centrally but an extra fan would also help if needed. Having been on this boat a few times it’s not short on breeze passing through the cabin.

Nice boat but to whoever edited your video the music is too loud I cannot hear what the guy saying. The music should be background music not overpowering the narration

Exactly, it takes away from why we are here, for the boats, not super loud elevator music.

One thing you can honestly say about how they used to make catamarans - they were winging it. Almost every catamaran built before 2002 had terrible ergonomics, terrible layouts, & terrible use of space.

Daft. Full throttle bullshit max fuel consumption. Who uses their boat like that? Stereo for sale, if you turn it up to 10 it’s really loud. p.s,the amp will be red hot and speakers will be trashed but hey it’s loud so you should buy it.
@grenadacatamarans3 жыл бұрын
Its normal for manufacturer to give a maximum expected performance figure, whether that be a stereo max wattage or a car or boat max speed. A typical sailing cat might motor at 8-11kts WOT(wide open throttle), giving a cruising speed using 1/2 -2/3 throttle of maybe 5-7kts, when someone says a sailing catamaran will do 20kts you can be sure that people will want to see it go 20kts so here it is,...but using the same 1/2-2/3 throttle you could reason than the boat capable of reaching 20kts max speed would motor comfortably at 10-14kts all day long, which is the case with Phoenix, but if you need 20kts in an emergency or to make it to the bar before happy hour ends then you can.

Gas? who still uses gas these days, especially on a boat, when induction burners are available??
@howardclarkeCYB3 жыл бұрын
Propane gas is still very popular, probably 9 out of 10 boats are still using gas, although induction hobs are gaining popularity especially on the larger boats and boats that are upgrading to lithium batteries.

Hi Andrew, The Tobago sale should close in the next week or two, everyone who has been on the boat comments on the excellent build quality, the cedar plank construction is a work of art and and the excellent fiberglass work over the wood has kept the core of this boat in great shape. Great work Andrew.

I would have liked to hear the nose levels instead of the music
@grenadacatamarans4 жыл бұрын
Yes that would have been nice, unfortunately going at speed on a boat and getting useable audio is not easy, the wind noise through my iphone mic when out on the water typically makes the audio unusable, I do use an external mic and windsock sometimes but it eliminates most of the background noise and my gimbal doesn't like the extra weight. I think you will just have to come to Grenada and hear it for yourself while sitting back and drinking a cocktail of your choice while we discuss which of the Grenadine islands to sail too.
