I can remember when you were lucky if the launch made it into orbit without blowing up or, just exploding on the launch pad. ( yes, I'm old). This is one of the most amazing space launches I have ever watched. History making event !!!

Getting ambient noise, wave action, and the raw crowd reaction without so called "expert" running commentary but just real emotions throughout the launch and recovery was spectacular - great job.

Thank you for the wide camera shot that really showed just how fast that booster was returning and how quickly the engines thrust brought it to a crawl for a soft catch. This was indeed a giant leap. It is likely that there will be faltering steps in future but the arc of progress has been firmly established. Such is the pace of SpaceX that all too soon of they will convert such a momentous achievement into the routine and mundane.

Incredible how the booster comes into view traveling at over 3000kph, then gently touches down on the chopsticks a minute later.

Anyone notice that white dot at 4:59 (upper left screen) Slowly moving down and then turned black when it gets between the booster and the camera and eventually flew away to the left. Zoom on it and see. Someone was curious huh?

The booster was coming in so quickly. Did you think it was going to make a crater?
@donald4munro6 күн бұрын
It was a possibility, but an unlikely one. The good news is it would've missed the pad by a few hundred feet or so. You could see the engines bring it closer to the tower when the booster confirmed it was healthy.

Imagine if we had made the first flight to the moon, and everybody *wasn't* talking about it the next day? That's how gobsmack I am that everyone is NOT talking about this, constantly, everywhere. I feel like I just watched a game changer yesterday; a seismic shift in what is possible, and the result of new processes, new goals, and a new way of thinking. Elon & SpaceX have just created blank space on the white board of what is possible. Pick up a dry erase marker and start drawing, because everything is on the table, now. Also, the very thin dude in this video is my spirit animal.
