Comparing the sublingual method to vitamin B12 injections, research found that taking B12 under the tongue had a higher absorption rate, making it a better option (Bensky, 2019). Shoots not needed.

I also have pernicious anemia and I give myself B-12 injections every two weeks. I am very thin and have very little muscle in my thighs so it’s not uncommon for me to hit bone when I’m injecting so my BIGGEST TIPS are to get the shortest needle possible. Also I grab the skin and any muscle I can on my thighs, pinch together and slowly inject while letting go slowly!!!!

Have you been tested for Pernicious Anaemia? I have it and you need to be tested for Intrinsic Factor antibodies. Sometimes you will get a negative result but it doesn't mean you don't have PA, the test is 50/50. I have all the symptoms you have, pins and needles in feet and legs, memory problems, etc etc. It means you need life long B12 injections to stop permanent neurological problems. You are not able to absorb B12 from food because you make antibodies which stop it's absorbtion. I have had it since 2015 and was given loading doses of twice a week at my surgery then every 2 months. I managed fine till last year when I hit rock bottom after exercising , using up my B12 and found it hard to walk, pins and needles were strong , yellow tinged skin, utter fatigue, you know the rest ! Gp's gave me twice a week for 6 months till I felt well again but as soon as I went on to once a week injections I went backwards so now inject myself every other day. Pernicious anaemia is rare, o.1 percent of the population so gp's even some neurologists don't understand that even though your blood is full of it, you are still having serious symptoms because your body can't absorb it. The Pernicious Anaemia Society is the place to go to for all the information you need, amazing . Thank you for your video and good luck

The first time you took b12, was the recovery linear or exponential? As in, did you recover slowly and steadily, or - there was no recovery first few months, but things get much better towards the end. I am taking b12 for the first time (after covid), so it would be really helpful.

There is a 'rare' genetic disorder that is called MTHFR which doesn't allow the body to absorb B-12. It takes a genetic test to determine if you have this abnormality, by high homocysteine levels also indicate a B-12 deficiency. I was diagnosed w/ this geneutation 3 years ago, after being treated for Fibromyalgia for 30 years. Weekly injections of B-12 saved my life, because prior to this treatment, NOTHING had worked. I'm now pain free, energized & healthy. Life changer!

I also am given 25 gauge needles + it doesn't hurt. Smaller guage = less pain. I rarely get bruising from my weekly injections & rarely feel anything after being jabbed. Also, Folic Acid supplementation is ESSENTIAL to keep your B-12 level. I was initially prescribed 1 mg a day & eventually increased to 3mg daily. Big difference in my energy levels being sustained.

It does though, every time. Doesn't matter who does it or where its administered (leg, arm etc). I know several people all who get B12 injections and they all say the same thing. Even medical staff agree, it's to do with the density of the liquid (or something like that - could be wrong) but i feel it going in every time abd it's not pleasant. ☹️

Thank you. It was a good number of years ago now but from what I remember, I used a couple of strips of timber (3x2") and glued them to the large cake board, then put the cake itself onto smaller cake boards that then sat on the timber

Thanks for sharing your video - you're really brave. It's really not difficult to self inject once you get the hang of it :) My neurologist just prescribed me high dose B12 oral over the counter supplements as my bloodwork came back as being deficient. Neurological symptoms, excruciating fatigue, memory loss, numbness, pain etc for quite awhile now. I decided to get myself methylcobalamin aka ... probably one of the best/purest forms of injectable B12. Just ordered that and syringes today :) About 9 or 10 years ago I used to self- inject with a combo of B-complex, lipotropics, l-carnitine etc. I learned how to inject myself by watching several KZbin videos! 🙌🏽 When I went to do my very first injection, I stalled a bit then just told myself to count 1, 2, 3 > Go! The countdown really helped and once the needle's in, you really can't even feel it. It all comes down to getting past the fear of just getting started to even do it! After the first time, I was a champ 😁

Heya, this is really helpful. The Drs are being cagey about giving me the injections i need. I wonder if you got diagnosed with pernicious aneamia, did the run further tests to confirm why you can't absorb it? PA is so hard to diagnose they seem so clueless about it aswell
