4:05 Very interesting...I did just over 8 years in the USCG(2002-2010), and I don't recall ever using a HF distress band, we certainly didn't monitor that channel at the 3 small boat SAR untis I was stationed at. Maybe that's why nobody responded lol.

Yes you said something very important at the very last of the video to put the hub pulley on the shaft not the bearing why didn’t you recorded that part that is been the most difficult thing to do. And i didn’t understand how you said you did it. Do you have s drawing off since sort
@KevinKaldenАй бұрын
I hope you will join my channel and hit the like button. Why did I not record it? Hell I asked that same question to myself in the video. If I remember correctly I took something that would clear the impeller and sat the shaft on it in the press. then pressed the pull on allowing the force to be on the pulley, shaft and what ever it was that I used to keep the pressure off of the impeller. probably an old nut.

You have A lot of acquired skills and knowledge, so you could consider showing "more inclusive" video's because if you omit any steps in the process of taking things apart or assembling them, then people with little or no related expertise may not be able to do the job you were aiming to teach them correctly, so don't be shy about make your videos longer while ensuring you show and explain every step of a given task clearly. Stay safe, regards Niels.😀

Shooting videos is an art in itself. I’d like to think I’m getting better. I definitely have invested in a lot of equipment since this video was shot. I also struggle with knowing that KZbin is not necessarily the best platform for a novice to learn how to do task That requires an awareness of how things work and good safety practices. I love showing the skills I have learned over 40 years of fixing equipment with hopes that people may gain something from it but I don’t want to be an all inclusive training source. I am definitely not the person to shine as an example of safety. Thank you for watching my video. Very informative sir, thumbs up & subbed! That orifice/restrictor allows the the refrigerant to "flash" once it travels through it; it experiences a considerable psi drop on the outlet of the orifice & with that significant psi drop, comes a congruent temperature drop of the refrigerant. Once that cold refrigerant gets heated again (after going through the evaporator - which is really just a heat exchanger - since warmer, ambient air is being constantly blown over it) the refrigerant then changes state again, back to a vapor/gas, to be pulled back into the compressor to start the loop over again. Another 'rule of thumb' tip, larger diameter lines in a system like that usually contain the low psi, since in order to move the same volume of refrigerant as the high psi lines, the diameters need to be increased.

@@KevinKalden I did both, good sir! 👍 Had a question for you, did you use a local shop/store to buy your parts for the fix, or shop online? I'm having a devil of a time trying to find *just a replacement clutch assembly for my 05. They're all either v-belt or wrong number of grooves. Don't wanna buy a whole new compressor & recharge my entire system if I don't have to; I don't own, nor have ever used the vacuum pump setup you showed.

I have a old one that was used by u haul. It's not the original engine but has the 8hp briggs updraft carb. I replaced the belt and looks like I'll be doing adjustments. I'll need to check mine like you did but it seems I'll need to go shorter on the belt because after replacing the belt and engaging forward it still doesn't stay tilling the belt slips even after adjustments.

@@KevinKalden Thank you. I am tackling this job now and the locknut wont come off. Im considering drilling it or cutting it off. Will any bolt and locknut do? Should I go to the hardware store and ask for the exact nut and bolt that i cut off?
@whojackson17 күн бұрын
I finally did it. If anyone else is having trouble with that bolt buy a hyper tough mini sawzall at walmart. It will cut through the bolt in minutes. Drilling didnt work because the bolt keep spinning in place and a rotary tool didnt work either because it just spun in place. Also a hardware store had the exact nut and bolt I needed.

@KevinKalden4 ай бұрын
Each pulley has two different sizes of sheaves that the belts ride in. So one belt is trying to move the second pulley fast and the other belt is trying to move it slow. Since the pulley can not move fast and slow at the same time it will be locked up. You must have a horse 1 which both pulleys were the same size.
@ericpigg26894 ай бұрын

Great piece of maintainence on your part... VW door hardware was never best build factory quality. Especially the outer door handles. If you have the original window latch hardware they can be rebonded to the glass using the same adhesive used for windshield mounted, interior rearview mirror mounting plates. The surfaces must be super clean to accomplish a good bond between the glass and the metal. Thanks for sharing.👍
