Such a shame as his first round heat in 13.10 was sublime. So glad he made up for it by becoming World Champion and world record holder the following year.

He wasn't lying about some teachers being bullys because when I was in high school I had a teacher that no business being a teacher I remember she would purposely pick me to read up in front of the class and she was well aware I struggle with reading and she knew I was embarrassed about my reading struggles and every time I was having trouble identifying a word she started be little to me front of the class

The underdog life is one of hardship, longevity and sacrifice, but by God can you perform miracles. Underachieving experiences are sink or swim and for some, the humiliation is unacceptable, even if it does gift one with humility. These people who want to be the best at their game will never reach the top without failure and hardship. The cost is social disassociation, but if one can trenscend this, anything and everything is possible. I say this as a former underachiever who is now a Principal Engineer of Geotechnics.

Shame on you bro. You’re actually creating more division with these ‘I’m not saying...’ then saying the thing you’re ‘not saying’ 🙄 grow up and focus on your rhymes.

Pretty sure you don’t speak with a Jamaican accent either. Being from Hackney myself. So how about this race baiting shit and stop this Pseudo intellectual bullshit grandstanding? It was a good song. He wasn’t being racist. Shut up man. I could pick your rhymes apart and find ‘problematic’ word play or references. It’s art. Leave it alone. And that’s what Hackney felt like! I don’t get this guys vendetta. It’s so dumb.

i dont think this is a huge issue, thats one of my favourite songs... i think the issue is that this clip was taken and chosen to be uploaded, in fact i was looking foreward to what Akala had to say after this clip ended.. because he usually would never make bold statements and not back them up... so its a shame that only 3 minutes of this lecture was uploaded.... he has a wonderful way with words, like i said all lecture have a beginning middle and end... and the solution is usually given towards the end of the lecture... this in my humble opinion was used to just make a statement (out of context by London360 or whoever uploaded this) and cause a bit of a rift. for the sake of media and sensationalizing... there was another interview where Akala when asked 2 questions said "i would rather not speak on the professor green thing" because he could see that his words were taken out of context and people were trying to make it into an Akala vs Professor Green thing which it never was... he is just making social commentary and observation about how the industry, the movers and shakers go about, choosing what aspects of blackness to promote, regardless of what is healthy for the black community. not sure if it makes any difference but i am Pakistani myself and greatly admire Akala.

Honestly, you go school to learn, and the first thing is to learn how to read and write. If they can't do that honestly what's the point of school. I was one of the last kids in my class to learn how to read. I might have never learnt to read if one great teacher hadn't taken the time and put in a little extra effort to help me. I will forever be grateful to that teacher.

This man is very calp and steady. Very inspiring and generous with the words. You could learn a lot from him while just sitting and watching him talk very simply about his life. The way he simplifies things, and how he explains his life and points out the most important details jus to convey a life lesson to the audience is just mesmerizing.
