Good technique, but she should improve her Italian pronunciation

I just looked that up and chatGPT said this.. lol In The Shawshank Redemption, “Voi che sapete” is not featured directly. However, the opera scene that is often mistaken for “Voi che sapete” actually features “Sull’aria,” a duet from Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s opera The Marriage of Figaro. This iconic moment occurs when Andy Dufresne locks himself in the warden’s office and plays the duet over the prison’s PA system, bringing a moment of beauty and humanity to the inmates.

Diese Interpretation ist langweilig und unoriginell. Die Lesart Harnoncourts mit Elisabeth Kulman als Cherubino beeindruckt viel mehr.

Saw this from Shawshank. Was instantly mesmerized by it. Immediately went out and bought the highlights from Marriage of Figaro. I played it at least twenty times. The words of Red came back to me: I have no idea what those two ladies were singing about. For a brief moment, every man was free. ~ 💟

One of my favourite arias of Rusalka. In 2 minutes, from gentle, beautiful, sensual warmth with the 2 clarinets, to full bodied passion ending with the strings playing the 'longing' motif. Genius. I have seen this opera over 25 times now and I always enjoy the first interval thrilled by this music.

Great singing, but the subtitles are not accurate.
Platee is so interesting because she is a comic character that we come to kind of love. She believes in herself, even though this giant trick is being played on her. The end, where her ego is crushed, is sort of tragic. One hopes she can recover, move on in her own fantasy; but the cruelty is very sharp.

Those big blue eyes are just great for this fabulous character. This is such a great Opera: both funny, and a little sad. I wish Samuel Boden and Garsington the greatest of successes!
